Started all my bikes up and gave them a static run, lubed the MTS chain ready for the annual ride with the wife down to Cornwall late next week. Been on duty since 08:00 but not called out yet ! So its roast pork dinner in about ten minutes.
Got home from a 4+ hour Sunday lunch and had my usual 4/6 Stella's but the bottle of red and 2 large Remys seem to have taken their toll? Decided to clear out my odd bits kitchen draw that all guys have? - 20 yr old Nokia chargers, fuses, old plugs, loads of brass hinges and screws etc.Found an old (5 years?) tube of superglue and was surprised that with a bit of unblocking and nozzle trimming still flowed! Set about repairing the reading glasses I sat on and broke that were also in drawer.I can tell you it would not bond the frames but I did manage to stick them to top of my head and my beloved cat walked through spillage and stuck her tail to wood floor!Girlfriend had to hold her down while I carried out a tricky but successful procedure to release her tail.
I made 26 of the little guys. Now just need to decorate them. Tomorrow. I'll make sure to make a few jihadists (cocoa or coffee in the icing sugar will help here).
I wouldn't mind your recipe - I can't find my mums one for love nor money - I know you melted the golden syrup in a pan - it was a war time recipe - others I've tried have not been so good (or maybe I just need mums old coal fired Aga lol)
Your wish is my command. I've just been using this Delia Smith recipe to make all the gingerbread men I have ever made. Works very well indeed. Gingerbread Men - English - Recipes - from Delia Online The only thing I have found is that they don't need more than about 8 mins in my oven or they burn. They'd all be very black if I left them in there for 15 mins - inedible. But it will depend on your oven. Keep a close eye.
had to take today off work... Quite a serious issue apparently. 3 vans and they've called for digging equipment [emoji15]
Went to work for a half-day this morning, got told that my 1pm "thing" this afternoon is now an 10:45 am thing, so I'm home now. Will have to go back to work afterwards so might as well do the afternoon as well. What a waste of 40 miles worth of petrol. Stupid early people, all their fault.
