Played in snow with kids. Made worst snowman ever apparently, everyone's a critic. Shoulder went into its massive spasm thing it does which results in me lying on the floor unable to move so had a bath and 2 hours in bed waiting for pain to go so I could move again. Spent afternoon sorting my paperwork/filing which I've been putting off a long time so not a totally wasted afternoon.
Still waiting for my ear plugs that I ordered from the nec. Did not go for the headphones, just the plugs. Hope they will be ok.
We went to Leeds to see #2 son, d-i-l and grandchildren as we'd not seen them for about 10 days. We ended up going to Pizza Express for lunch as we couldn't get in anywhere else that we fancied. It wasn't too bad as the chef had slightly burnt my pizza so they did me another. And there really wasn't anything that wrong with the first, so I've got a free lunch for tomorrow And we also got 40% off the bill so overall it was a bit of a bargain
:Writing: Note to self, do not model snowmen on @chizel as the children will not be too happy with it :smileys:
A government warning today said that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets or sleeping bag, extra clothing including a scarf hat and gloves. Also a 24 hour supply of food and drink, a de-icer, rock salt, torch & spare batteries. In addition they should take a safety triangle, tow rope, petrol can, first aid kit & jump leads.. I was the centre of attention on the bus this morning
Sorry Ron. That's a fail. It's in the joke thread today too and it isn't new - think it came out at least a year ago. Still, your success rate is generally high!
Good to have some uplifting news today in the form of a breakthrough in treating multiple sclerosis. Panorama tonight explores this more apparently.
Science shows that owls have the sharpest hearing on the planet. They have clearly never tested a man watching porn whilst his wife is asleep...
A mate of mine has been using them for about three years and swears by them. He has advised me to try a helmet liner, which might help. When I put my helmet on my ears fold over which causes the problem.
This evening I shall mostly be fitting these bad boys to the multi. I live in a dark, unlit area inhabited by sheep and deer so I'm going for max light on the road. I'm calling it project Italian Sun!
I'm surprised at this. I've had some for a couple of years and had no problem. I find them really good in fact. There's got to be a technique for taking your helmet off. The moulded in speakers should make no difference in size to the plugs. I'm sure you do it anyway but just to be sure to be sure, do you put your thumbs up inside your lid and pull it open/apart when taking it off? Did you buy them from Ultimate ears? I found them very good and helpful.
This morning I am in the office, and this afternoon I'm in meetings in Sheffield. Tomorrow I will have a new car to test drive all day. The downside is I have to go to Telford
Not today but yesterday. Processed my last plate as a profile plate burner at the steel works. This picture of two floor burners was taken some time in the 60`s, the job looks virtually the same as when I started in 1995. Fast forwards 20 years and the floor burning has long gone. It was replaced by these in the late 90`s. They are the third generation of Techserv machines we`ve used, still pretty basic but they did the job. And that`s all she wrote.
