  1. Currently sitting back in apartment with ice pack on knee. Had nowhere to go when another skier, coming from behind me, passed in front of me hitting the front of my skis. Don't think there is too much damage as I skied back to the apartment though in pain. Hopefully be back out tomorrow. Grrr

  2. I'd like to know the same thing and also the weight difference between them. I mean, if you can shave off a kilo cheaply, why wouldn't you?

  3. I have 2 batteries slung under the tank of my bike. One of them is the original and is 13+ years old.Save a bit of weight by changing them for Li Ion.I could then eat more pork pies.

  4. I am looking at manufacturing Lithium Batteries - just in discussions with a specialist company, not sure if it will go any where yet :Angelic:

  7. On ebay I paid £22 to M&P for....

As you can see it says it's safe for lithium ones. I haven't had occasion to leave it on for any length of time but have checked that it works and have had no problem. I know you can get the special ones but this seems OK to me.

  8. Riding to work as normal, motorway slip road, come across a bloke looking a the front of his car and a bloke rubbing the side of his bike.
I might be wrong, but I think it's getting worse here. I don't note all instances and don't react much, but yesterday, at a large junction, I rode off from the lights to find 2 cars crossing my path, obviously broke the red lights.
Do people not realise that breaking a red light is dangerous.

  9. Thank you Brian for that info on your charger.Looks like I will go down the same Li-Ion route some time this year. The old bike does labour a bit when cranking over.

  10. People risking other peoples' safety for the sake of a few seconds.

  11. I took my guitar, a Martin, the romantically named GPCPA1 Plus, to a luthier to get it set up properly. I imported it from the US for much cheapness and the action was way too high. He has transformed it. I knew it was a gamble buying it unseen but I saved a bundle and the set up was only £55 so I am one very happy bunny.

The luthier's name is David Antony Reid and he works in Perth and has a studio in Battersea. A really interesting guy, very open and friendly. His own guitars are stunning but, because they are bespoke, are a bit out my league. He gave me one to try - it was a piece of art with one of the best necks and action on any acoustic I've ever played. I told him that if he could get my guitar set up like that I'd be delighted. Well, he did and I am. :D If you have a guitar that could do with a set up and you're up this way or in London then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Even if you don't think it needs a set up I'm pretty sure he'd improve it anyway.

He's also a biker. Has a Duc 900ss (I think) and a Matchless 500. I told him about the site and he seemed interested so we'll see if he turns up.

  12. The lack of a sympathy icon has been mentioned before. Knee quite swollen now, don't think I will be out tomorrow which is our last day.

  13. I see it all the time on the Bristol ring road.some sets of traffic lights are set up so there is no delay to try and stop people from using the extra couple of seconds. But still I can pull away and have to brake for some muppet who thinks red means you can go if you put you foot down.

  14. Buses in London are the worst for this. They seem to think they're exempt and end up blocking the junctions for everyone else. Then they do that stupid 'eyes front' thing to not make eye contact with the people they're screwing over.
