Survived shopping in Southampton West Quay today with my girlfriend. Picked myself up a nice Speck Filfolio case for my Nexus 7 tablet from John Lewis store. Tad expensive at 30 quid but hey ho, its Christmas! Had a nice something-to-eat at the Toby Carvery too!
My darling wife dragged me round Cribbs Causeway shopping just coz I bought a big telly the other day! I believe they call it revenge....
Walked the dog, trip to the council dump, start of the big garage / shed 'why did we keep this?' sort out. Then my son and I moved several wheelbarrow loads of scalpings and half inch to dust from driveway to back garden, Mel ran a twacker over it, walked the dog. Ham egg and chips for tea. Another edge of the seat day...

Spent a massive amount of the evening looking at Youtube videos of the late Christopher Hitchens. Whilst I don't hold with everything he thought was a good idea (he is way too lenient on Bush, Blair and the Iraq War) he is still one of the most articulate orators I have heard with a fantastic turn of phrase ("If you gave *** an enema, you'd be able to bury his remains in a matchbox"). His rubbishing of religion was masterful and very funny. I loved how he'd never make any allowances for what he thought - you got it straight, no matter how offensive you might find it. I shall now order his book God is Not Great from Amazon. Not because I think it will tell me much I don't already know or believe, but because I think it will be highly entertaining.

That should be good I think, though I do have some gigs/theatre tickets booked already towards the end of May. What are the actual dates for the bank holiday? Is it 25/26/27 May?
Just woken from a deep, beer assisted slumber by the sound of clanking bottles as the recycling is collected...... and then it dawned on me that I hadn't put our recycling out. Panic..... Run down-stairs...... Out to the garden...... Back inside when I realised I was naked, apart from slippers!!! Made it just in time though
