330mm diameter and you may well be right, when I got the caliper off the pads were low and the pistons were well extended. All done now and hopefully cleaned all the brake fluid off. Andy

Improving all the time, having some pretty intensive physio on it as well. Still can't squat down onto my heels though.

 

Lesson learnt: don't park your fully faired motorbike in a row of bicycles, on a windy day.

well. that was a pity. it really helps the gloat when you have pics to back it up. didn't charge me phone up. had my first proper run today just a wee 100mls on the fugly. (do i really need the 848?)
clear blue sky's up over glencoe through to the welly. most of the mountains still have snow on them. fantastic. why would you ever live in a city? down to oban then home. the new Michelin super sports seem to work well, nice profile on them, makes you look like a biking god without trying. that's them on the edges, again with out trying. always ran the pure range before but no longer available. so that's my season kicked off. not really been posting on this here thread much of late. way to busy at work with v.little joy to report. and no biking since the end of october. but been having a ball with the kids and quads.

Just put in a claim to the bank regarding Bank charges I paid for about 10+ years and never used....sounds like I might get something back....that'll keep the other half quiet about the recent hypermotard purchase.

Had a good day today by my standards anyway?Slid out of pit @ 9.00am (alarm is always set for 10.30am) as I had a punter hot to trot on an 03 Beemer 320d M Sport for 9.30 and he loved it,paid and went - good start to the week? Sold a couple of memorable mobile numbers for reasonable profit and bought a 1960/61? I'm told Norton ES2 500 engine - all there but partly stripped - tried to buy it over 18 months ago for a project that I've since sold the frame for but guy remembered my number!(told you good mobile numbers pay for themselves!).Gonna fully strip and examine it and maybe do a few mods to get the horses up from the standard huge 33BHP? Seen to remember a few early drag bikers using ES2 500cc singles with a fair bit of success - a couple even supercharging them

I recently had to insure an old 2004 Audi RS6 4.2 V8 with a big Bhp MTM conversion and compare the market etc were talking mental money - got it a third cheaper from a high street broker in the end

 

I got it for half of my renewal quote with better cover from a specialist broker, most see being a trained professional driver as a higher risk for some reason... It's a bog standard 2002 325i touring not some fire spitting beast so £680 was not going to fly, especially with 8 years ncb.

 

You are spot on,I've had a full car and bike licence from 11 days after my 17 Th birthday and held a motor traders policy in my name for over 41 years but they seem to either ignore my driving record and years of driving experience of all types of vehicles? The only reason I had to put the RS6 on an individual policy they said is because I was driving it all the time! I told them its stock and advertised for sale - even e mailed them copies of Autotrader and performance car mag/website adverts but their mind was made up! Cheapest quote from Internet was £1098 cos of MTM performance mods (595 Bhp) - I managed to get it down to £630 but it took a lot of time and effort.When I sold it after a few months and cancelled policy it was big drama getting any money refunded

 

Thanks everyone for you kind thoughts and messages of support for my friend.He is in a bad way at the moment and it's looking more and more like his eye can't be saved? Such a lovely,personable guy who has represented his country at the highest level in waterski Jumping,Slalom and cable skiing,also a Guinness record holder! I wish for nothing more this year than to watch him flying round the lake,pulling tricks and stunts like nobody I've ever seen do.Get well soon chap.X
