I saw the year's first swallows a couple of days ago. It's quite neat: suddenly there are swallows again. Yes, I know it doesn't make a summer. I am hoping the storks are going to spend a night in my village again. Apparently, they are creatures of habit and are now beginning to show up every year for an overnight. Had nettle soup last night. This has many things going for it: It is very cheap. It is supposedly very nutritious. It is very tasty. It's very easy to make. It reduces the amount of nettles in your garden (not permanently - nettles are a bastard to get out with massive root systems breeding new nettles). You feel pretty good about getting anything useful out of a weed.
Prating about with the shiny new laptop work gave me as a bonus :sunglasses: Considering I've been an Apple man for nigh on the last ten years I've re converted to windows - windows 10 works really nicely
Windows 10 is the only way forward- dunno why people go the Apple route? There again I've never got my head round why someone would splash their hard earned on a brand new Citroen?
the Apple products from the last 10 years had a level of physical quality and user interface lacking in generic equipment, but the gulf has been shrinking all the time. In the same breath every subsequent iphone seems to get cheaper and flimsier. Ipads work nicely, but as with phones you can now get generic tablets (notably Samsung) which are every bit as nice for a fraction of the price. This laptop is an Acer, so not a high end brand, but windows 10 has the slickness the previous releases of windows hasn't had for me. My work laptop is windows 7, its ok, but not exactly great, and our salesman has windows 8 which is little short of a disaster.
You lost me at "generic!" I've had I phones since the day they were launched and I think you become comfortable when you are used to the features. My son talked me into a Samsung galaxy something when I was just about to get a free upgrade to iPhone 6.Gotta say it was a nightmare! Not just the different function setups- it went wrong twice in 3 weeks - so it went! Just got an iPhone 6S plus and I love it
Discovered that my 1290 wheelies off the throttle in 5th... :Wideyed::Wideyed: Wound a handful in at about 7K and up it came and I got a telling off from the TC light. :Woot:
Got my bike booked in for the 5th of May at CJS.... That will seal the deal, I'm already thinking that this bike will be mine for years but if the re-map makes the improvements that people say then it will be pretty much perfect for me. It already makes me giggle like crazy.
I always tell everyone who goes on about moggy minors to get behind the wheel of one, wind it upto 60mph and brake really hard! Interesting stopping
Moggy Minor instrument panels are very reliable. They don't burn clutches out every 15,000 miles and tyres last 27 years.
A carefully planned manoeuvre from the one I drove years ago, stopping it while going down a steep hill is burned into my memory :fearscream:
Moggies handle so well with a wheel in each corner there's no need for brakes. Get those gears whining and just keep going. Cross-plys and leaf-springs, its not for girls.
EasyJet have just released their winter 2016/17 flights this morning. I've booked my flights to/from Geneva in January 2017 for the princely sum of £114 including my board bag. Result!! Today has started well.
had an older lady customer in this morning and it was all i could do to stop her swinging her leg over the 848 which she spotted in the corner of the workshop. wtf? she went on to tell me tails of her youth and riding (bikes) down to Glasgow on the old roads with Ian Hamilton QC. (stone of destiny fame) she rode cruisers due to her short legs. wtf was she thinking trying to mount an 848? :Hilarious:. superb. :smileys:
Denied! Smc are adamant that the broken mounts for the tail light are not covered by the warranty... Not paying for a new one thats clearly not tough enough so i will plastic weld it... Also saved £53 by booking it into Doncaster Motorcycles for its service and MOT.
Had a week off work with my son for Easter holidays. I'm shattered. Need to get back to work for a rest.
