  5. Hey everybody just got back from Prescott cracking day out but it was cold! But it stayed dry and the sun did make an appearance now and then. Some cracking bikes there and doing the hill climb. Must admit I didn't go up as was enjoying the bikes and watching everyone else hoon up there.

  6. Missed you Alistair, popped down to the paddock a couple of times but you weren't to be seen. It was a good day, loved the 7 year old showing how it should be done and as for the shopping trolley powered by a Chinook gas turbine, madness. Good selection of bikes and whilst I remember most of the early bikes that ran, Allen Millyards 5 cylinder KH has always been a favourite of mine. Disappointed to have missed you but I'm sure there will be another time. Andy

  7. Hi Andy sorry I missed you so many people there that we knew ,everywhere I went someone wanted to chat. Hope you had a good day though. Think my favourite bike was checa's moto GP bike.

  10. Monstered West on the A272 where I fell in with an 888 rider coming into Midhurst. Met my bro & rode onto Fort Nelson near Portsdown Hill.

  16. View attachment 67857 Having a crappy time of it recently, my own fault, self inflicted but I do wonder what this living the dream BS is all about, motorsport is a mugs game. Working my tits off to make it possible and that's bad enough.

2013 had a misfire, spent several meetings, test days fitting parts, inc. new loom / ecu trying to sort it.
Thought I fixed it suspecting a wire in loom. So stripped the chassis and rebuilt it, and got the no2 engine tuned and rebuilt put the refreshed motor in for 2014 went testing misfire was back WTF. lost most of the season before it was sorted, Fixed the misfire with new throttle bodies, injectors, tps. So thought, I will not race and be ready for 2015..

Pre season testing 2015 this engine lets go, so put no1 engine put back in. Had no2 engine rebuilt with new crank and rods. Fitted this motor over last couple of weeks. Fired it up yesterday...

It stuggles to start and will not start when warm, even with slave battery.
This can not happen, as we have to warm up in park ferme and then shut off, warm up on the grid, shut off.... once we are up to temp, you can probably only run for about 4 mins unless it's rolling.

2 weeks till Silverstone and it's not the cost of parts so much, although a engine rebuild is not cheap, it's the time, logistics and testing, race entry costs... miss a couple of meeting and you save enough for an engine rebuild.

I'm thinking if I sell it (at a reduced price) I'd lose less than what I could spend and time wasted trying to fix it, even if it's just fouled plugs of a temp sensor. The testing on Friday and racing over the weekend is not cheap... Gutted.

I can't seem to get a good season in with a competitive motor. Now I understand why they say, if you have to ask how expensive it is you can't afford it, or when you ask how much? some elitist swines say, how much do you want to win? Buying the thing is one thing, the enter fees and running costs are another, it's all the other crap that really hurts. The difference between 4 wheel racing and 2 :(

Coupled with issues at work (no holidays) I do wonder sometimes why do I do it.
I think I'm going to have to knock this on the head and do something more affordable, because I can't pay a team more than I can earn when I can run and prep just as well, perhaps fault find even better, I may as well take the time off work. Other the than the factory team, I'd trust my own skills better... I seem to come unstuck on the bits I don't do or electrical component failure...

Last Month I was battling with the planning department.. to find out my problem is now a BS political one, shouts rude words loudly.

Oh well it's not all bad these (See picture) turned up today, and they were as described, unlike the R1 forks I ordered off Ebay recently.

Might do some comfort eating later, anyone want 1/2 a Chinese feast?
I guess it could be worse, lucky to have such problems some might say.

  19. Sorry to hear @Not Carl Fogarty , minute consolation but it's helped me realised am not alone although totally different scenario. You must be gutted but admire you for your seemingly endless patience - maybe a fresh start is the way forward (as you said).
