  1. Here we are Ducbird. Not very pretty I'm afraid.I was very pleased with my Filo pastry dessert though, even though the inside was not cooked properly.Despite repeatedly reading the recipe whilst preparing it-I missed a very important stage. P1010011 (1).JPG

  4. Looks interesting nice pastry ;)

  5. post brexit immigration interview?

  6. Dropped the (wretched) Land Rover off for (yet more) repairs and collected the (very nice) Mitsubishi Shogun hire car...

And learnt how to put supporting fluid into a gyro compass sphere...

  7. So my day started like this post in the multi section...

    Would You Buy Multistrada Again?
So today the multi had an "Italian" ride to work. The problems started 10 miles into my 86 mile commute.

Firstly, the rear brake suddenly started going right to the floor (no jokes, my rear brake has always worked). Pumped it a fair few times and it would go hard but after 5 seconds odd of not pumping it would go to the floor again. Stopped and pulled over and pumped it engine off. All fine and back to normal for the rest of the ride.

Second, about 1 mile after I sorted the brake, the indicator button is gone. I can indicate but not cancel them. Arm signals for the remainder of the journey then.

Thirdly, the engine kept cutting out momentarily on the motorway. I think it's the side stand switch so I'll look at that later.

And finally, I get 3 odd miles from my destination and I get an ERROR DEVICE DES. Beautiful. Engine off/on clears it straight away.

To top it all off the petrol station at my destination was coned off so I couldn't get my breakfast sausage roll.

    Crap morning.

    **update**

Shorted the side stand switch in the car park where I was working, that was fine for the ride home but could not find a neutral at all when stopped. Weird.

Riding home (80+ miles) I only go and find my bloody indicator switch button down a country lane. It's been run over but I've managed to salvage it into a working button. Woohoo.

  8. Starting to wish some drivers would stop acting hard and mouthing off when young children are in the car. You know the type, gutter rats. I just can't argue back, I ride off just feeling sorry for them.

  9. Then perhaps you should stop cutting them up and annoying them? Purely guessing here from your description of your post.

  10. My kids cringe with embarrassment when I start swearing while driving

  11. It's called filtering and as far as I am aware it's legal. If they want to gain 6feet in a long line of traffic, that's fine with me. The point is reacting in such a matter not appropriate for children to witness.
I'm more than happy to give as much as I get and happy to admit blame.

  16. El T - BT may be a complete shambles, but they are still more efficient and helpful than the RAF Comms Department that I have to deal with down here... They recently claimed to be short of phone lines, so to find out which ones are important they just disconnected a load without telling anyone, and then waited to see who complained. To my mind, frequency of use does not equate to importance, but they didn't see it that way. "Yes, I understand that no-one has called me on the EMERGENCY phone line so far this year, but it's quite important that they actually CAN if they need to..." Numpties !

  17. And today you have cut the grass ironed dusted hoovered done the shopping and grovelled your way back in. Cos the lady is worth it!

  18. Early start today, in the garage by about 7am to get the wheels that need refurbishing off the NC29, down to Micheldever tyres to swap the (relatively good) Rosso Corse tyres over to the wheels that have been refurbished, pop in to MRs to have a gander at the new Enduro, in to Moles to pick up a couple of bags of mixed corn for the fowl and back home to fit the wheels back on the NC29. Pork pies for lunch (yummy) and as he weather is still good, got enough time to go for a run out before watching MotoGP qualifying. Really good day so far. Andy

  19. Today is a fix it day, so far i have stripped and rebuilt the rear brakes on dads car, diagnosed and cured a misfire on next doors focus (cracked ceramic on #4 spark plug)
Changed the air filter on the Multistrada without removal of the tank and had a man round to quote for repairs to the flat roof...
Still need to have a look over the back brake on the Multistrada before its first mot on Monday.
