  7. Done the rear brake, some muppet had got chain lube on the disc and inner pad, rushing that job is no good.

So everything under the bike is cleaned and tidy, eccentric pinch bolts cleaned, re-greased and torqued. Even put the crud catcher back on.
I did get to test the new Torque wrench putting the back wheel back on, a good clean later and it started raining so that's all ready for tomorrows ride to Devils Bridge with a load of Triumphs, should be fun.

  8. Went down to 3X Motorcycles for their Triumph open day. Wanted a demo on the Thruxton but it was booked up. Swung a leg over one and it was very lovely indeed. The silver one particularly looks fantastic. I think they'll probably have a hit on their hands with that one.
Took out the new Speed Triple R. Sublime chassis, wonderful suspension and brakes. But coming from a 1098 Ducati and a 1290 KTM I found the engine a bit gutless. It had a nice bit of urge in the upper middle but nothing like what I've got used to. A pity. That lovely chassis good handle way more power than that.
Also took out a Thunderbird Storm, the big 1700 cruiser thingy and against all expectations absolutely loved it. Not fast but stacks of lazy grunt and armchair comfort. Handled way better than I expected too, as long as the road was smooth.. Sounded fab as well. Feet forward, knees out, I could have kept going and blarted all the way to Scotland.
All in all a good way to spend a Saturday.

  9. Seriously dude, I haven't.

    Not today anyway :)

  10. Couldn't make the ride in to the Italian day in Bristol. Was planning to go over later but decided a ride down to Yeovil was better than fighting my way through Bristol traffic it was chilly! But rode the Monster for the first time since Rich at Louigi Moto gave it a major service. Lovely it was. Just eaten now going to walk the dog

  11. Bit harsh on the dog - what did he do to deserve being eaten?

  14. Searching for a new washer, I use them a lot, cars, bikes etc. I'd like a decent home use one, no idea what to buy, but not another karcher. Piece of crap.

  15. Quite a lot of Laphroiag.

  16. I just searched, single malt, tasty

  17. I've got a small Nilfisk. It isn't perfect. Like most cheap pressure washers its impossible to coil the pressure hose up and store it on the machine. It springs off and gets in a tangle. The lances fall out of their holders and in use it constantly falls over and the feed hose gets pulled off and the pressure hose and power lead are too short. But it has been reliable. The Karcher is constantly springing leaks and playing up.
Stihl washers are better but expensive.

  18. A very peaty wee number but smooth as silk.
A high class hooker of the single malt world with a 60 a day habit.
Like snogging an ashtray. But enjoyable.
I should probably stop typing now. :Wacky:

  19. Caol Ila or Ardbeg. I can smell a peat fire just thinking about it.

  20. Recently on holiday, got speaking to a Swiss bloke, we got drinking some Swiss whiskey type stuff, can't really remember to be honest, its a bloody bar, anyway, it was what I imagine peaty boggy whisky taste. Tasted shite. Then got a milder type and it was OK, I was pissed at this point, so ask me what it was called, or anything else, cause I don't remember.
