So what have you done today..?

  1. Finally got to take a run out on the 1098R. Stopped off in Wantage and wound both front and rear compression off by 2 clicks and rebound off by 3 clicks. Petrol stop in Newbury and wound rear compression off by 2 more clicks and rebound off by 3 more clicks. My lower vertebrae seemed to rattle a lot less on the short run home. I think I'm going to back the pre load off by 5mm on the rear and half a turn on the front. Thank heaven for padded cycling shorts under the leathers. Gear lever was too high as well so need to adjust that too. All in all, very pleased with the bike and clearly got to grips with the handling because Carole got a "rider down" alert from Biketrac. Spoke to the control centre and they said I'd been too enthusiastic and need to speak to head office to turn the sensitivity down. Definitely going to have some serious fun on this bike :D. 2. Had this natty little decat exhaust system fitted to the orange Austrian. Turning nicely blue now.
Amazed how it transforms the bike. They claim an extra 12 bhp and for once I can well believe it. The Akra map has definitely sharpened the throttle response. Its seriously punchy low down now and angry as hell everywhere else, just like the SF and feels as thudding too. Sounds ace, the quality is superb and its cheaper than the equivalent full Termi system. Why can't we have Akra systems like this for Ducatis?
Just had a set of M7RRs fitted too. Trashed the Dunlops after 1900 miles and didn't really have confidence in them from the start. Glad I wasn't tempted to try them on the SF.
Tomorrow its having a pro suspension set-up. And that's me bankrupt for a bit.

  5. Made my first rhubarb crumble this evening. It's only taken me 55 years. And then, for that authentic school dinner taste, I had to make Bird's instant custard to eat with it. It was fantastic and the wife gave it a huge thumbs up. Last year I wasted the rhubarb from the garden by making a fool with some cream that was on the way out. No such error this year.
Also made a pork and cider casserole and some cranberry cookies.
I dunno. It was just one of those cooking days.
Put in a couple of hours digging the garden too and unearthed enough potatoes for supper - potatoes that weren't supposed to be there. Cheap day at the shops.

  7. It might be easier if you climb upwards rather than sideways?

  13. Takes WAY longer than you think it will......

  14. I thought it'd take a couple of hours max,but five hours later and still not happy with the result, only temporary though

  15. Tell him well done from me please chap! I seem to remember that Ilfracombe is pretty hilly?

  16. I had some graphics and stripes professionally done last week in Dorking and watched two lads and a girl wrap a black XFR R Jaguar saloon in matt purple/Lilac! Not to everyone's taste I realise but they made it look dead easy job which I very much doubt it is???

  17. Was that at bossdog dorking?they quoted me £600 for the same design so went the cheap route until i'm sold on a design or repaint and put a proper clear coat on.

  18. Yes it was Luca @ BOSSDOG Graphics of Dorking! I actually did a straight trade with him for a graphics job against a memorable mobile phone number for him personally.I was impressed with the set up and his professionalism but I also got the feeling his work could be on the expensive side.In fairness I've seen cheapo window tinting and vehicle wrapping before and it looked proper nasty end result so it's probably better to pay a bit more for a pro job
