Blimey,I think you've done a bloody good job if it's your first ever wrapping effort! I don't think it's ever gonna be good enough for a perfectionist to embark on a wrapping project???

 

I'd have to agree I visited the place and had a chat with them,and if i get it done properly then i'm going there as not a lot of places with a good reputation local.thought the price was fair.still not sure what to go with at the moment.funny the quality of paint is one of my only real gripes with the 1299

 

yeah first attempt,problem is you get better as you work through the pieces and learn with each one,the last piece looks the best.just takes patience,and heat gun.but as you can guess kept wanting to scrap the whole thing over the slightest mistake

 

My 2004 mint and 100% original 4,000 mile 749 factory finish paint job was very "orange peely" for what new was a pretty expensive high end motorcycle? Mind you my mate has just taken delivery of a brand new AMG A Class Mercedes - the zipped up nearly 400bhp weapon and the paintwork is bloody terrible! I don't think anyone can achieve a decent finish since all manufacturers were forced into water based paint only for Eco reasons

 

I wouldn't even attempt it? With my ultra short fuse and terrible temper I know my limits? To me it would be same as plastering or wallpapering the lounge? I would never even consider doing it because I know what would happen!

 

I remember a good mate of mine saying that one of the most satisfying things was to sit down with his son after Sunday lunch and build an air fix model together? My wife had to do that job with my boys as she knew if I had tried there would be smashed bits of hurricane or Apollo 7 all round the house!

 

I only have patience if i'm on my own slight old/perfectionist,I'm a manager at work and my patience is not as good managing 150 people so can relate

Hahaha - I would be slung out in less than 5 minutes! It's not really anger as such - it's more frustration I think.I never did an apprenticeship to learn a trade or master some specific skill.My old dad (bless him) stripped an old Ex GPO BSA Bantam and made me watch him do it.We laid out old newspapers and cardboard on the garage floor and wrote a short description of every part until it was stripped down to every nut and bolt! - then he said "put it back together son on your own in your own time!" I was just 14 years old.After working on it solid for a week he came in to inspect my masterpiece and said well done son I'm very proud of you! Then he said I want you to be a man and 100% honest now and show me what you had left over??? I sheepishly opened the old Stanley toolbox and showed him 1 X nut,2 X washers and some sort of tapered pin that I couldn't find where they went? My Dad had planted them on one of the bits of cardboard early one morning - the crafty old bugger.It was only after he died that my mother told me it wasn't just a test of my ability to watch n learn but a test of my honesty and a life lesson? He was quite a guy my old dad - lost him on my 17th birthday (hence I've never really been keen on my birthdays).That was 41 years ago but I still miss him and there ain't a day I don't think about "Bomber"

 

Got the back wheel balanced, it ended up with 80g of weight almost opposite the (now removed) existing weights. If you imagine the old weight at 12 o'clock the new is at about 5. It was over 110g out so I don't know what the hell went wrong there.

Then when I got home the mechanic had fitted the weights right up to the edge of the rim, so they hit the cable guide on the swing arm and needed moving in a bit ersevere: I did that myself, stubborn little buggers.
On the up side, I have found a nice easy way of torquing the wheel nut up with the bike on the abba stand.
After that I went off to have a look at a friends car with a misfire.

 

I never forget when somebody was interviewing Piers Morgan (not a fave of mine and a proper cock!)and they asked him what he thought about Elton having another child? Morgan answered quick as a flash "I didn't even know he was pregnant!"

Should have been testing at Silverstone and racing this weekend, instead I was banking a cheque after selling the race car yesterday. I have a guy viewing the trailer on Sunday and a driver wants my No3 set of wheels.. I guess it saves me stuffing it and walking away with nothing and or paying on going bills.

Got sent the trailer for Motors TV broadcast, thanks for that Oh well, will start shopping for bits for the Ducati soon and looking what else I can do... Might just chill out for a while and let my brain wind down a bit.
May do some bike track training and some bike track days..
