So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. We've been to Snape/Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and Southwold. I've had fish and chips, several lattes and coffee and walnut cake. And despite walking for miles I'm now growing a food baby :)

Sat in the garden sunbathing and looking forward to a curry this evening. :)

  5. Paperwork, and chased up my carbon air box.. I'm going to have to get this bike built up soon, the weather it too good.
I was hoping it would be good to go for this weekend but I've been a bit lazy really... I could get the front end swapped while waiting.

  6. Bit of a shaky start-had to take a cocktail of painkillers.Managed to make it to my Yoga Nidra class for some deep meditation and relaxation.:)
Rang up Carole Nash to arrange insurance on my latest purchase, fully expecting a big hike in the premium.Expecting an even bigger hike when I was asked to hold for a few minutes while they worked it out.:( That will be an £32 the girl said.Whoopee:upyeah:
All I need now is the stars to align themselves in the correct sequence and I will go out for a wobble.:p

  7. Bought a replacement (straight) front fairing/clocks bracket for Carole's 400RR off eBay on Friday with the promise of delivery today. Full marks to the retailer and UKMail, had a text at about 8:15 this morning telling me delivery would be between 8:57 and 9:57. At 30 seconds past 8:57 my parcel was delivered and it is now with my local powder coater for cleaning and coating. Got all my chores done and snuck out on the 1098R managing to do 2 and a bit tanks of petrol before getting home. I love this bike, comfortable it is not, fun to ride it is, in bucket loads. I do however need to temper my enjoyment, twisting the throttle in the first 4 gears engages warp drive and 3 figure speeds arrive alarmingly quickly but it is amazing how cars move out of your way, having heard you coming probably half a mile away . 9. Pretty much had the perfect day today. Spent the warm, sunny morning in the park chatting with someone I haven't properly seen, and have missed terribly, for the past fifteen years, had a marvellous catch-up. In some ways it was like the years had melted away entirely.

Dossed around in the afternoon, doing not much at all and loving it.

Lovely evening ride on the T9S, the second half of which was epic with little traffic to spoil the rhythms. Boo-yah! :)

Just about the best day in I cannot remember how long :)

  10. took the Mustang back to Alamo Seatac Airport this morning with around 1650 miles extra after our two week road trip - Seattle - Pendleton- Boise- Bend (beautiful)- Portland (the pits) - Astoria (unexpectedly lovely), then back to airport.
It returned 29.4mpg and performed perfectly and only blip was getting stopped by Kennewick Highway Patrol for speeding. :upyeah:

  13. Today we've been to Framlingham and it's castle and mooching around local to where we are staying. And we've been eating and drinking lots of lovely stuff. But it is our anniversary today too so it;'s allowed.

This evening we've been to the Ramsholt Arms which has a beautiful backdrop :)

Tomorrow we are heading home but via East Runton in Norfolk to see my bride's aunt and uncle, for lunch.

  14. Yesterday.
Had the day off because I and three mates had an invite to The Holland & Holland shooting school.
Shot 100 sporting followed by a few rounds with a .375 rifle. (Good fun but not my thing)
Followed by around of 100 sporting at EJ Churchills. I even managed to shoot 74%.
And just to add the icing on the cake of a rich mans style day.
Steak dinner and a few beers at a cracking restaurant. image.jpeg image.jpeg

  15. Not today, don't matter..................after my crappy shitty Karcher washer wet itself, the hunt was on for a new washer. I looked long and hard at washers, not the most interesting search, it's spits out water.

Well, walked into a shop, bought a new crappy shitty Karcher washer. If I'd brains I'd be dangerous.

  17. Glad to see that the beer was so effective.

  18. More so than the adrenaline rush of today's play. Mind you at these Londiniun prices of £4.90 a pint it'll be a year before I save enough to enjoy the flesh pots of our capital city again.

  19. I stayed in Cambridge last weekend, went in a pub by the river and £4,50 a pint, :Wideyed:

  20. No idea how much a pint costs... Don't drink... I did work in a nightclub 25 years ago and 1664 was 1.80 a pint and that was steep... Apparently...
