  2. I don't drink but will have a pint now and again, Mrs roadtrip had a pint of cider £4.75, found everything in Cambridge cost the same as London, got a cab back to the hotel and just to sit in the cab started at £5.40 and that was before 12am.

  3. I think Cambridge prices include an amount of tourist tax.

Take your good lady to Tipton where prices would be much more reasonable and you get a free fight after the third pint [emoji6]

  4. Had a tough ol day today! Was in hossie last week for X Ray's and full body scan to try to get to bottom of my massive weight loss (my max ever was a huge 23.5 Stone but 15 yrs ago! Was 17St 10 lb early 2015 and now 10St 8lb!!!).Problem is I haven't been tryin to lose weight since I stabilised at 17st 10lb - hence the scans etc. They had me in for the Camera down into stomach today and wouldn't let me have a full anaesthetic due to my low BP and told me I would be fine with just a numbing throat spray? OMG - it was the worst most distressing uncomfortable 7/8 minutes of my life!!! Don't know if any of you guys or gals have ever had this procedure but I would be interested to hear how you faired???

  5. My son has had two up and two down and with down always been put out as everyone said its not good if your not.
He has also swallowed a camera which is the size of a very very large tablet and its takes pictures every 3 seconds and you see whats happening on a lap top :Snaphappy:

  6. Sounds a top day out? H n H are beautifully crafted guns and always a pleasure to shoot. 74% ain't too shabby either chap!

  7. Fair play - I don't think I could handle seeing a child go through this procedure without an anaesthetic - I'm no melt but it properly distressed me and my chest and stomach still feel very sore.I just got an NHS text with the words I was dreading! Next week is " Camera up time!" Bloody Hell!!! Girlfriend thinks she is a comedian all of a sudden? - "You went to a Roman Catholic Boarding School so you know the drill!"

  8. Forgot to say chap! Hope your son is all ok now

  9. That sounds pretty awful. I've had an endoscopy but they gave me a general anaesthetic for it and I'm glad they did. Without the anaesthetic it sounds like a complete mare.
    I hope it's nothing serious.

  10. It bloody was - I gagged all way through it and I could feel every tissue sample they took! On the paperwork they gave me afterwords at the debriefing I saw the technician/consultant wrote "Patient responded well to procedure with no problems!" - I said "what do people usually do? Pull the tube and camera out and head butt the operator?" The only thing I can compare it to was a clip I saw of a "suspected" terrorist being water boarded ?

  11. This afternoon I went along to Knockhill to see Bob Grant, he preps two superstock 600s and the riders were practising while he looked after the bikes and gave them advice. I think it's the last practise day before BSB in a fortnight. These guys don't hang about. There's a slight rise on the track where it goes past the pits and most bikes are on the back wheel as they scream past.

These are the 2 bikes. Bob is on the left, fettling.

  14. At least the technician/consultant will have a laugh and I will brighten up her day when I drop my bags and she sees my rabbits tail tattoo disappearing up my arse?

  16. Seem to remember an episode of the original Sweeney when a gang of bank robbers cut down a matched pair of gold plated Purdys?

  17. Feeling quite rough. I've become a stem cell donor for someone of equal weight and height to me in utah..... I can only guess it's become quite urgent and the hospital has been phoning me after they've made the appointments ! On my second day of being stabbed in the stomach multiple times (too much to inject in one place) apparently. Two more day of injections to go and then in on Monday for them to extract a coke cans worth of stem cells to be flown over same day (the fresher the better so I'm told) if it all goes wrong on Monday theyll get them out under general anesthetic the next day....if that happens I'll be getting a lot of pain killers! So I'm told...

  20. Thanks very much, someone did it for my dad which gave him a shot at life, I signed up after he passed away a couple of years ago, it's the least I can do... Funnily enough I keep getting told that I can back out whenever I want but someone out there is literally depending on me to stay alive and in turn God knows how many family members around him so what I'm going through at the moment is totally insignificant compared to what he's going through... I know as I've been there myself. The only downside of being a match is that once I've donated to him I'm taken off the register by default... But I'm kinda tied to him for another 2 years or so jut in case he needs anymore... Stem cell budies!
