  7. When it stopped raining and dad shifted his car, I sanded the garage doors and got a coat of primer on there, will do another coat in the morning and hopefully a coat of gloss in the afternoon... Those doors are original so must be 50 years old, not bad.

  9. Took 999 out with newly fitted sat nav mount (mobile phone holder held on with cable ties) which pretty much worked, but needed the zip ties moving which i've done tonight. Just need to find a way to keep the phone powered up (new thread alert (it's been a while)).

Also, tried new 60mm bar end mirrors with the normal ones tapped over. Stickers required "objects in your mirrors actually be LOADS closer than they appear!". Still nice not to have to do the funky chicken and I should be able to see Mr Plod. They are cheap/miserable £8.99 ebay jobs to see how I got on with them before spending big on Oberon. Don't fit quite right so been at them tonight with the tools but still right. Also, need pointing out, not in, as they slightly get in the way.

  10. Enjoying the beautiful sun in Greece...

  11. Sat in Basingstoke NHS X-Ray department, waiting for an x-ray to locate which of my lumbar discs is displaced. Woke up fine first thing, rolled over to drop my legs over the side of the bed and there was a very loud crack followed by excruciating pain and now just mostly numbness with the occasional pins and needles. Had a similar thing 40 odd years ago getting on my bike one morning. Been fine (ish) ever since so hopefully this will get better before Mallory at the end of the month. Andy

  14. Wifey and her friend have booked their CBT. I hope they enjoy it. I'm fairly sure they will and are old enough to do the direct access route. Neither have rode a bike, but learning is one of the best bits.

  16. Designing something for NASA Johnson Space Center, so they can test energy conversion devices.
Next job is for the Germans, to enable them to heat solar panels during manufacture. Then design a 2000 celsius furnace for the Japanese to process materials in carbon monoxide....British industry is still alive!

  17. My wife did her CBT about this time last year. The instructor was rude, and didn't want to be there cos it was cold and wet. Added to which he tried to up the price by £10 even though she had agreed the price in writing and had paid 50% up front. She had to show him the email with the agreed price on her phone before he relented!!

Needless to say she didn't have a good experience all round and subsequently gave it up as a bad job.

  18. Not the best way to encourage new people into motorcycling.

  20. As yesterday so far, another coat of primer/undercoat on the garage doors and a coat of white gloss on the frame, will put the 'Classic Maroon' on tomorrow, just relaxing for a bit then will give the MT a once over and go out for a blast...

Just watched a nice demonstration of power -v- handling on faceache.
