So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. I need someone to router my worktop !

  2. We've just come back today from a holiday in Ca'n Picafort Majorca.
My wife didn't really enjoy it, because everyone could speak English and all the food was like the stuff we eat back at home.

On the flight back she said, "Next time, I want to go somewhere different in culture, where they eat weird shit and you can't understand a word they say."

So I've just booked us a fortnight in Glasgow.

  3. when you say router? A new worktop that needs a mitre ?

  4. No a length of walnut worktop that needs a cut out for a Belfast sink and a bullnose put all round the front edge :)

  5. oh... A nightmare job...lol.. One of my pet hates is worktops..
couple of tears back I spent ages on a solid oak top only to cut it a 100mm to short and had to pay £400 for another. I did make most of the money back by making chopping boards outta it. A few on here have em! ( mind you they didn't pay)
there is a company that does nothing but worktops, mitre mate I think they're called. I'm not sure if they are London only though...

  7. that's the outfit! Don't think the prices are too bad tbh. If doing worktops only and not a full kitchen fit, I charge like a wounded bull as there is very little profit in it and although I've only messed up a few times in many years some have been damaged through no fault of my own and I've been left outta pocket.
most of my chippy mates are the same.

  8. Well this morning I went to Squires on the Panigale for breakfast with the local branch of the DOC. Met up with @its me , and saw his lovely new bike, @Tobytyke , @Christy - it was really nice and the bike turned more than a few heads. :upyeah:

Then I took a long winded way home. This bike is really confidence inspiring. It's fantastic. Love it.

When I got home I switched bikes to the Scrambler, changed into my scrambler get up and headed to Leeds to see my grandchildren. However when I got there they'd gone out so I headed back to Squires for another coffee. The sun was shining, and though it was busy this morning, this afternoon it was rammed!

After my coffee I headed back home but went via some roads/towns/villages etc I'd never been to before which added about another 40 miles to the journey - and the ride home was brisk and more than a little fun :p

Today has been a good day :)

  9. Ride out to Matlock today, lovely weather, loads of Ducati's out. Popped the multi on the centre stand only for some bafoon to park a zzr so close, it was very very close to becoming a parking statistic, only problem was if I'd knocked it over I could have domino'd about 600 bikes. I was surprised just how little space I needed to take the multi off its centre stand, my missus was very impressed!

  10. Its astonishing just how many guys (haven't noticed with girls [emoji51]) park their pride & joy like that! I would assume also that they would take a bit of a strop if it fell over or whatever as a result of you trying to extract your bike! Unbef###inbelievable!

  11. :sunglasses:Certainly was a grand day at Sherburn with some lovely Ducati's on show.
Julie and I went to York afterwards for a new pinlock visor.
We decided to keep going to Helmsley for lunch.
The sun had brought the bikes out and it was packed.

@El Toro Wish we had called back via Sherburn again and caught your scrambler and gear:sunglasses:

  13. Have you tried the heated jackets?

  14. Got up too early, 999 was even less impressed with getting up before 7am. Frozzen solid riding to Bedford. Meet some real nice chaps, got me toe down for the first time. Rode home. Curry and beer time.

  15. Nice. Toe down is much better than helmet down and much cheaper too [emoji6]

  17. My blonde girlfriend did three pregnancy tests this morning and all three were positive.

"I can't believe it," she said, wiping tears from her face, "How the fuck are we going to cope with triplets?"

  19. Like most people, I like to do something a little different at the weekend.

On Saturdays I become Jewish, because that's their day of rest.

On Sundays I become Christian, because that's their day of rest.

Then for the remainder of the week, I go back to being a Scouser.
