  1. Hey leave ducky out of this!
The reason I asked was I did similar and a year later had to 'adjust ' it as it was above the damp proof course.

  3. The last brick is above the damp proof course so has a 5mm gap to the wall, ie not connected to the building. The lower extension has a double level damp proof course as the floor level is ground level, should be fine :)

  4. a bit like Rockall perhaps, but with an enclosed swiming pool..

  5. Just had a medical. The doctor said "Don't eat anything fatty"

I said "Like bacon, cakes and burgers?"

He said "No fatty, just don't eat anything"

  11. Sat all day at Pilgrims Drop watching Shakey Byrne and Carl Cox Motorsport team...
    Hard Life eh!

  12. Missed my mate winning the championship (while I was travelling). I got home about 3am this morning.

We both started circuit racing at a similar time (in a lower spec car) we both moved up to the higher spec car. Although he had won races/championships in some kind of oval racing before he started. Several years later....

Yesterday, it came down to the last race, last round of the season. He was very lucky with reliability this year and full credit to him not making a mistake under the pressure of having to get the results with no clear points lead. Running as owner, driver, racing against some good guys with good budgets & some drivers run by the manufacturer. Beating an F3 podium driver this year, international kart racers, one driver who's finished on mixed grids P1 against drivers from far and wide at Spa, several years in a row and last years British Hill Climb Champion... takes a bit of doing.

Pleased for him and his family who run the car. We've helped each other out more than few times, lots of happy memories. Last one, instead of saying he was ill, turned up at my houses and despite throwing up, still tried to eat a curry. That's dedication and not letting people down with crap excuses.

Moving on..... Popped out at 10am this morning and suspect I got caught speeding. I'm normally more alert Looked down I think I was doing 45/50 in a 40 limit or not. Police in unmarked car, standing with camera in plain view, just before the speed limit increases. They were stood in a layby next to the the road. I was on auto pilot, clocked them last minute.. oh well.

  13. I thought handheld they had issue you with the nip when they catch you!? Unlike the camera vans.
    Was this near mk?

  14. Unless it's changed in the last 3 years it's the same as being caught by the "safety camera" nazis. I was caught in similar circumstances in Lancashire 3 years ago.

  15. Yes was near MK and was hand held...

I've not has a ticket in years, clean licence.
I tend to drive motors that are slow intentionally, and have not had bikes on the road for many years

  16. Many, many months ago I suggested a customer set their up network a certain way to provide an extra layer of redundancy. Got told no, they won't need it as their current setup was fine and wouldn't go down.

Well, it happened. Got the phone call to say everything was down. Took my sweet time turning up with my best smug look on my face [emoji6]

  18. I've been up to my eyes in wading through a report from a US "associate" in readiness for a conference call in 40 minutes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again..........................Americans are friggin' clueless. This conference call will be a bleedin' waste of time!!

They deserve Donald Trump as President. Trouble is the rest of the world doesn't.

How did they ever get to become a super power?

  19. It's my mrs's birthday today.

She wanted a Pandora bracelet, so I met her halfway and got her a Pan.
