Well this morning I am going to finish my packing. Drive to my friends in Leeds to drop my car off at his house. Then both of us will get a taxi to Leeds/Bradford airport where we will then fly to Geneva with SleazyJet. In Geneva we will be picked up and driven to Morzine, where we will meet with a group of friends from all over the country, in a fantastic chalet for fun and frolics in the snow. Next week I will be mostly sliding down mountains.
Spent the day with my main man ... Came home gave him a good oiley massage .. Got down and dirty !! Had a cup of tea and put him to bed
Bit of shopping this morning, went to pick up some kinesiology tape for my knee, all set for tomorrow !
Braved ikea on a Saturday. I could be the only person in there and I'd hate the place, but on a Saturday???? If there is a hell on earth then ikea is it! then nipped and got my abba stand. Now chillin having a nice cold Stella about to watch this weeks silent witness!
Well yesterday i changed my clutch friction plates on my 600 Monster, 23,740 miles. Measured the new plates....3.50mm thick. Measured the old ones....3.4mm thick. DOH!!!! Maybe it was a bit premature, but i got a good price on the Newfren plates at -20% off normal price, so i guess i may as well get the use out of them! The one good thing was the clearance between the tangs of the clutch plates and the basket were 0.45mm. The limit is 0.6mm, and the new ones a snug 0.20mm so i guess there was a tad bit of wear there but still way in tolerance. Minimum thickness limit on the friction plate i think the Haynes states 3.25mm so still plenty of meat on them. Not bad for an original clutch! My fireblade clutch was kerput at 25k! Today i finished off the job by adding fresh Castrol 10w 40 semi-syn oil kindly donated by a mate. Fitted a new genuine oil filter too! Man, i'm so nice to my bike, only done 3,780 miles on the oil and filter! Just gotto go out for a ride now. Been into Chichester town late afternoon shoe shopping with the girlfriend, its her xmas meal tonight, lol. Bit late but she's not complaining.
Well sort of. The new stuff that has gone in the bedroom has allowed the old stuff to go into the garage for storage. Does that count?
Changed my sig...Went for a spin a couple of weeks ago and some idiot starts looking at the bike. "Nice bike", he says, "Is it a Harley?"
Like the banner - do like the griso, too. started ripping the floor out of the kitchen (taught the kids how to use hammers, chisels and similar stuff - all kitted in safety gear, of course - good lads took to manual work quite well), ran out of time, dropped them off with their mum, played rugby (won 7-0 in a quagmire against a bunch Neanderthals ), stopped off for a few bits, cooked me a curry and topped up the anti inflammatories with a drop of red. Arse in to gear tomorrow and stop being a lazy git.
I love Kats. That was my Grey import Katana 400SSN the little brother identical in every way but scaled down in size (and watercooled unlike its big brother) Rebuild it ... becoming a real classic and have a huge following and going up in value all the time ! I tried to move the big Kat and its very heavy and was too long for me
Nice one Fig!!! too right Have kinda set my heart on a Guzzi ..... I wouldn't part with the Monsters .... but am hankering after a V7 or suchlike
