So what have you done today..?

  1. Rick Parfitt's death probably reminded me it was in the drawer - not sure why I even still have it after 40 years!

  2. Pop In to the reptile zoo?

  3. Put a new cam cover gasket on the FZR engine, and gave the top end a quick check. For a 42,000 mile engine WOW, you could eat your dinner off it and there wasn't a mark on the cams at all, like new!

  4. I was in meetings all day in Sheffield. Really productive in the morning but one of the group I'm working with had invited a potential funder from that there London to a second meeting to meet the group in the afternoon.

Well he was supposed to arrive at 12.30, but eventually rocked up at 1.45 without an apology, kiss my arse or nothing. And to top it off he was the biggest cockney wide boy I've ever come across. His voice was like scraping a blackboard. Put me on edge right away. And to top it off he was full of bullshit and fairy lights! And I had a feeling I'd come across him before in a previous life.

So I/we gave him a bit of a grilling. And despite all his bluster when we drilled down into what he'd claimed to have done there wasn't anything of any substance. He'd made some huge claims about a project he'd managed and and been involved in. If you believed what he'd said you'd have come away believing he was a financial messiah. However I know the project he was talking about. And I knew the problems this project had and the fact that he and his company had fucked it up big style. And I knew that his client was suing him and his company for loss of revenue etc. What a complete cock and complete bullshitter.

He upset the rest of my day.

  5. I successfully unblocked a drain, and it was very rewarding. :)

  6. tip for today.

Never take Viagra at the same time as you are taking a course of Iron Supplement Tablets.

I did it once and it's really weird.

Whichever way you turn, your Dick will always point to Magnetic North.

  9. My missus fell down the stairs last night and gave me a terrible time for not checking she was ok.

I told her it wasn't my fault - I thought it was the Eastenders finishing credits

  10. I mixed up my pile cream and toothpaste last night.

I ended up with shrunken gums and a ring of confidence.

  12. Waited in for the 1198 to be dropped off following servicing and a few other bits ad pieces at Italia Moto.

As usual, great service by them and I'm extremely happy with everything they've done. I wish all dealers were like them.

Also started getting organised for getting the last few bits done before the weather starts warming up and all I want to do is ride it :)

  13. Discovered it's far too bloody cold to work in the garage. Still, managed to get the fuel pump I got from @Simon-Ducati (thankyou :upyeah:) fitted into the spare tank and the tank fitted to the bike and plumbed in. Couldn't take a break without firing the bike up. Oh my, I have run out of superlatives to describe the sound of a 1098R with a 70mm system and Termignoni slash cut cans. I'll wait to warm up a bit before I go back into the garage and instal the positive cable from an Exact Start kit which is the last thing I need to do before it goes off to have a race fairing kit fitted. May and Almeria can't come soon enough :D. Andy

  16. Burglars are getting really clever lately.

I was in bed last night when my wife woke me up and said, "I can hear a noise downstairs."

It wasn't until I checked every room that I thought to myself "hang on I'm not even feckin' married...."

  18. Yes, got the lead and can upload my own maps to the KTM ECU.

Actually felt excited to ride home, even though it was raining. It's so smooth and responsive now. The previously snatchy throttle made wet riding a bit of a problem but now it just feels great. Sounds like a V8 and I'm still running standard pipes (for couple of months).

Above 5k it goes ballastic and the rumble turns into a proper induction roar. Revs climb so much faster. One happy chappy indeed.

  20. I've been fitting another new roof to a very old building.
    That's only half of it.

It's 18m long, out of parallel and not level, the back wall is not yet finished so as the builder has roofers waiting to start I have to timber one side first, believe me it's not easy keeping the ridge beam straight.
