So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. I'm treating my wife to a romantic dinner tonight.
    Soft, slow cooked pasta.
    The finest petits pois.
    Finely diced, soft soya flakes.
    A beautiful chicken stock marinade.
Finely seasoned with fresh basil and mixed herbs.
I just tip in water to the fill line, add the soy sauce sachet and that's it - I'm done

  2. Fitted the rear brake pads on the Multistrada today and what a faff. Remove the right hand side passenger foot peg, remove the end can heat shield, remove the end can, remove the wheel nut locking spring and finally get to play with the 18v rattle gun. Wheel nut came off relatively easily. Drop the rear caliper, remove the silly little clip holding the pad pin, struggle to get the pin out before being able to drop the pads out and give the caliper a good scrub with a tooth brush and lashings of brake cleaner. The pads were quite worn which clearly indicates I've finally got my head around the IAM Bike Safe system of using the brakes to slow down instead of banging through the box (no bloody fun). New pads fitted and decided to clean up all the bolts and threads with die and tap and where thread lock not required, put back with a healthy dollop of moly grease in the hope that they won't seize. Still, all done and ready for a run out tomorrow to scrub the new front tyre in before a thrash on Saturday. Andy

  7. Working from home on documents, do while I had a light lunch I watched Super Slimmers: did they keep the weight off from C4 this week.

Well that was f*cking depresssing. One out of loads who lost a significant amount put all back on at the same rate as they lost plus a bit. Only fella who didn't works out 2hrs a day, 7 days a week and mega strict on what he eats and is a PT now.

So for all you fat people: it's how it is, don't waste time or effort. And the next c*nt who says 'do more, eat less' will get a smash in their big mouth with whatever is in my hand. They better hope its cakes not pasty :triumph:

  8. Over last couple of days and nights.
New front brake pads, fluid change and good brake clean. New clutch slave and fluid change.
Chain cleaning and new front sprocket.
    Oil/filter.
All set for the nice weather..........

Did the cable tie front brake trick last night. Made a noticeable difference on lever travel even after a good bleeding.

  9. Finally got round to getting the starter changed on my car (it's been showing signs of imminent death for about a year) £55 for the starter, £57 for fitting, so not an expensive job. Wish I'd done it sooner, spins over much faster while drawing much less current so starting greatly improved. Dunno why I'd been putting it off. Towbar fitting tomorrow.

  10. Got a call from Giles at HPS. My BST's for the Desmo are in and will be with me next week. :Hungry: Now to decide on tyres. (before any smart arse says yes, I'm talking brand)

It made me forget about the tooth ache I've had since yesterday for about 5mins :Hurting:, I was that happy. :)

  12. Had an interesting day today, but I'm still waiting on confirmation of a nice project, which is a tad frustrating as I had hoped to have the order under my belt 10 days ago. Hopefully the client now has everything they need to sign the contract and put Letters of Credit in place. But it's never "there" till it's "there".

Also been investigating more marketing opportunities for increasing global sales.

Tomorrow we are off early to Manchester for dinner (booked a Vietnamese restaurant) before going to see Jack Whitehall at the Manchester Arena.

  13. Getting the multi back from Duc Mcr tomorrow, hopefully.
Two new tyres ( thanks JH -1986 for the tip), fluids service, chain and sprockets, and fitting of the ohlins SCU. Looking forward to returning the baby multi and getting mine back.

  14. What was the baby Multi like compared to the full fat version?

  15. Bit like a 959 vs a 1200 panigale I'd imagine...for the ladies ;)

  16. Overall wasn't too impressed. The drop in HP is really noticeable from mine, the finish is good but switch gear feels 'plasticky' and a bit cheap.
No keyless ignition, no centre stand, no single side swing arm, and the cast wheels look like they're off a 1990's Suzuki! That aside, Gear box and low running speed are very smooth, no usual lumpiness you associate with an L twin. Pick up is good but I found myself putting it in sport mode as soon as I could.
The seat feels good enough for touring and the pegs are a little higher or the seats lower?
I think it would make a good introduction bike to the multi family, but not for me having tasted the full fat version!

  18. Told by Duc Mcr I won't be getting my multi back for a few days! It seems a Ducati ecu up date has sent it in to a technical meltdown, 3 teams of techy types both here and Italy are scratching their collective heads trying to fathom it out.
Got baby multi for longer then anticipated.
