  1. Ouch!

  2. Thought you'd be immune by now

  3. Don't be too concerned, I'll be going back down the pub in a few hours:wink:

  4. That's my boy

  5. Remind me, what goes on in Wallingford these days? It's local to where my folks live and where I grew up. I even worked for Habitat in Wallingford as a scene decorator and furniture assembler for their catalogue for a couple of months when I was 19. Had to bicycle the six miles or so in the dark, spent all day in a warehouse with blacked out windows, and when I cycled home, it was dark again (Dec/Jan).

And don't remind me of the 4 Saturdays I spent in the big Wallingford department store Pettits, in menswear. It was the most soul-destroying job I ever did. I dreaded those Saturdays, looked forward to going back to school on Monday, and all for £3.50 for the day. After a month, I couldn't face it any more. Even at 17, I knew that life was too short to spend any of it at Pettits.

On my first Saturday, I was taken round all the departments and introduced: "Here is Alex. He is going to be working on Saturdays with us, but if he really likes it, he'll be coming full time." It made my hair stand on end. I'd already been offered a place at Cambridge!

  6. Brst to get back on the horse ASAP!

  7. today (the last couple of days really). I have been spraying a 749 swingarm for my project bike. It is now good enough to go on the 'bike', so another small step for the track hack.

  8. We have been rubbing down and re waxing the club long bows in readiness for the new season, which for us starts at Easter. It's a bit early but its too cold to do anything in the garden and the boy was asleep so couldn't do anything noisy like chain sawing any more wood :-(

  9. I did...

  10. Nice......:upyeah:

    Pickled hang over!

  11. I went outside..........

    AL

  12. I went north to try and discuss and reason with my sister over dealing with my dads will. Though I eventually managed a compromise I have cemented my thinking that she is a devious, manipulative, hard faced bitch

  13. From 00:30 to 05:00 myself and a friend went snow ploughing on a Council contract in a rather large Fendt 939 with an 8'10" snow plough on the front. For once the local back roads were in a far better state than the main roads (not on our route). The council boys didn't get up till half 4 (slack). Not a bad way to earn £45/hour ;).

  14. You should introduce her to my brother and sister in law , sounds like they'd get along

  15. Maybe my sister is your sister in law?

  16. At least you survived the expedition......:upyeah:

  17. Is she Israeli?

  18. Roads were pretty good until I got to where my parents live :upyeah:

  19. No. She's a bitch.

  20. That sounds quite normal then.....:biggrin:
