  3. Quote from B&Q in. Just as a gauge. Now I know why bathroom fitters and plumbers can afford to race.....comical. Guessing take stuff out, remove tiles, plaster walls and chase in new piperwok must 20 days effort given the price they quoted....

  4. You must have an understading wife. :)

  8. how much? I did my ex's bathroom (granted its not big) for £1700 plus materials so it cost her around 3K. I was telling her it was a 5-8k job elsewhere but she wouldn't have it. made the cabinetry myself in that too...

  9. asked her to get and show me quotes from others so as I have a better idea as what to charge (after I had given her my price to keep things honest) but that was to hard...

  10. Get ready.....
Remove bathroom, tiling, plaster walls, chase in some pipes, install bath basin loo shower and those plastic panels rather than tiles....I reckon a day to remove everything, day plastering, day prep, day installing, day for finishing....£5k labour

But the way they price is by part, not hours or work days. So they have quoted for lots of min fit plus the meterage where I'd expect it to be totted in labour time. As it will be when I find a fitter to do it anyway (as it won't be them!!)

  11. Btw the bathroom is 1700x2610, it's hardly palatial.

  12. bout the same size as hers (slightly bigger). took me 12 days. but that was everything from demo to lowering ceiling, down lights , plaster, tiling, painting and building, spraying and installing bespoke cabinets

  13. Most definitely not bespoke cabinets here.
