So far I've been reading reviews on the Cafe Racer. Later on I'm out on the Classic for a few hours Tomorrow is a grandchildren day as #2 son and family are coming over tonight to stay.
Beautiful day today outside....but,in the basement logged into work network working since 6am this morning - not all bad as watching the motogp atm....(moto2 warmup at the moment). Mate went out early doors on his RSV4 (so missed that). Other mate is away on hols and this afternoon will spend the day tracing a couple of mains wiring issues in the house...however I think tomorrow is still on track for a scorcher so, may make the pilgrimage down to Loomies...dunno yet... The only plus side is the basement stays as cool as a wine cellar no matter what the temp is outside which is nice....
Been to the ace.. very busy but didn't see any forum members. Back on the other side of the M25 now. May have got caught speeding.. No idea what's going on with all the cameras on the M1 these days.. Gatsos, or are they, as was? Grey ones on lamp posts every 100 meters or so (traffic?). Yellow ones on the end of gantry. Saw one Yellow one flash but I wasn't speeding.. unless it was an average do they flash??. Time will tell. I think it would have been just as busy at the Supersausage today and less urban BS.. I don't think I will head further South than On Yer Bike for a while..
Just back and recovered from a fab day at Cartmel races, lovely little spot. Went for a mates surprise 50th birthday party. Heading into York now for more beer
I was down the M1 and round the M25 last week in the car and all was well. Although maybe not making as much progress. I knew the rear facing grey boxes were fixed speed. Just wasn't sure if they still flash or have infra red/night vision. I dont think the smaller average speed cameras flash. They do have average speed cameras (sign posted) in places. I dont think they detect changes in the variable speed limits either. I hated driving all over the UK for work, customers upset about down time, where have you been.. Rushing to get back to the office somedays.. racked up points. I dont want to spend my weekends in traffic.. and the back road routes are longer when restricted for time. Probably gonna stick to local-ish routes venues.. plenty going on round here. Is it even possible to maintain or exceed the legal limit on the M25 now.. I don't miss living nearer london.
I've been out on the scrambler today and done 120 odd miles around West Yorkshire in beautiful sunshine. Went through a part of Bradford (very Asian/Muslim) that was twinned with a town called Hamm. How ironic eh? Also went through Horbury Bridge which is apparently the "home of Onward Christian Soldiers" Every day is a school day Now back home ready for MotoGP
I had 10 texts today, all asking me for sex. Usually that would be great, but I'd borrowed my wife's phone for the day
just been looking at my bank balance and I reckon I'm ready to have an accident at work that wasn't my fault.
Painted garage door frame (did the actual door a few weeks ago). Went for a quick spin and then realised I'd never taken a photo of the bike from above - so hung out the bedroom window..... sorry we aren't allowed wheelie bins in the new forest!
Went a ride to Stratford upon Avon on the Panther lots of bikes there had a cup of tea by the river came home finished the decking ready for tomorrow family BBQ Watched the MOTO GP not a bad day
Done the family thing today.....which means I've got a get out jail free card for tomorrow....so I'm not sure what to do where to go or what to ride... I might add....the best predicament in the world to have...!
Rode my 1965 Ducati 160cc bevel to the Ace Cafe and back, about 40 miles. It behaved impeccably, started first kick several times, surprised me with how good the drum brakes are, attracted lots of comments, and provided a fine contrast with the 100+ Harley-Davidsons at the Ace. It's undergeared with a 46 tooth rear sprocket, so I plan to try a 39 tooth which I have on order - should be more peaceful at 50-60 mph that way. I'm afraid the only HD I would give houseroom from those present today was a 1971 XR750 roadracer, from Warrs' museum.
