  3. My HJC HQ-1 carbon lid cost me £99 5 years ago:wink:

  4. 99 quid = $156.00 that was 5 years ago like you said, it's time to get a new lid isn't it? Because after time they do break down lol!

  5. Carbon fibre doesn't break down unless you damage it, you're thinking of old polycarbonate lids, surely?

  6. Must be because they usually say to replace a lid every 5 years!

  7. If I were a helmet manufacturer I'd say replace every 2 years......hell something has to pay my mortgage and look after me in old age.

  8. To be fair, would you want to stick your head inside a 5 year old crash hat..? It's not only yoghurt that has live cultures:wink:

  9. So when should you actually replace the lid? I am no helmet guru but some info would be handy...what I have been told by dealers is to replace them every 5 years or so!

  10. I change mine every 4-5 years. It's the law. Or I heard it in the pub. Or summat.

  11. Maybe carbon doesn't break down but look at it after a few years of sunlight and stuff often goes yellowish and stuff but that's the stuff they put on the weave ... ( spose like a resin ).

I usually put a sticker or two on my lids. Was just about to when my new Suomy
Air vent came off !!! After 2 goes .

    Saw it was under warranty.
Stickers of any kind void the warranty!
So I'm glad I did not!!!!
Loads of stuff voids the warranty :(
They repaired it but have lost my helmet tool !
So got to ask them for one to get side pods off :(

I thought they may just replace it .
    But repaired it.

  12. Taxed my replacement car this morning (picking up the car on Sunday) and the 999S sailed through its 30k service + MOT this afternoon.

To celebrate, I had TWO bacon butties, one for breakfast and one for lunch. God I'm so decadent.

  13. Before the work day started I arranged a stag weekend for me and some friends for the second bank holiday in May.

I've sent umpteen emails, had two conference calls and waiting to do a third to the US.

I've also been giving a mate relationship advice.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

  14. Dunno. Most brands recommend 5 years, I normally change every other year, just for the hell of it. Got six of the buggers clogging up my wardrobe at the moment...

  15. How often do you replace your wardrobe?

  16. When the Lion isn't looking...

  17. Never, it's a bloody antique!

  18. Tried to work out why taxis are so damn expensive, and the offer of lifts after the event are always so annoying

  19. Witch one is that

  20. Discovered Ducati decided to use star bolts on their discs, rather than allen keys like the rest of the world, thus making removal of doscs for wheel cleaning either expensive (specific tool) or expensive (round off all the bolts and need new ones) or nuckle bashingly difficult
