Spent half the day trying to get insurance quotes on the Scrambler 1100 Sport which will apparently be with me in a couple of weeks. Currently quotes range from £177 to £312. I'm still waiting on a couple of calls this evening. Ps. Hastings are a bag of shit. After filling our an enquiry form for 20 mins on line they couldn't give me a quote but urged me to call them to get a quote over the phone. After speaking to some dippy bird for over an hour and giving her details of the far end of a fart, she couldn't give me a price because their underwriters didn't know what a Scrambler 1100 Sport was.
Took the multi for a service, met a chap called Chris Wilson, forum member? Given a monster to hoon around on, which I did.
Used my Oxford heated grips to and from work on the Vespa today. How the hell have I ever managed without these? I can't believe they aren't plugged into the 240v mains, they get that hot. They are the best things I've ever put on a bike.
Try insuring a MV Agusta . Hello, I would like to insure my MV Agusta. O.K. sir. Who makes that motorcycle is it Ducati..........
Yesterday actually. Got down to the basement parking at work to find this... WTF ... Tried cleaning it up but no luck. This morning saw what had caused this... A leaking fire main against the roof had sprayed a jet of water right onto the front fairing, nose and light. Had a discussion with the building management, seems they will accept responsibility, that's a plus... Still really pissed off though...
Well yesterday I managed to get a deal on the insurance for my new and impending Scrambler 1100 Sport. I'm relatively happy with that. Yesterday evening I went climbing for the first time in weeks. I'm aching like an achy thing this morning :/
On the zed today after almost 2 weeks off anything 2 wheeled...literally a shot in the arm, the withdrawal symptoms were getting bad. And just to cap it all i think its going to be nice and warm later on...same again tomorrow. Although i must say it was getting a bit slidy as all the salt had built up round the edges so gonna have to get that off gradually.
just finished fitting my new shower unit - not bad for someone who hasn't fitted a shower before eh ?
Woke up alone in bed at 4:45, could not remember going to bed and was still drunk. This was not good. Got up and started getting ready for 6:30 taxi doing stuff round house just loud enough so wife on sofa knew I was up and about and doing stuff but not too loud to be shouted at. I've been on very best behaviour today! Still not sure what happened last night but I seem to be in good books again . Currently on Guinness #2 in Sligo Park Hotel while nobody's watching .
My new Belly Pan arrived from Italy with cut out for a side stand which will make life easier when out and about on 1098R No2 hopefully it will be ready for an MOT soon and subsequent fun with the DVLA getting it registered for the road! Finished the horn last week, disguised as a racing 'Pit' button...
Make sure the double socket is outside the shower curtain and all will be good, can't be too carfull. Steve
OYB open weekend Sat & Sun Still waiting for DVLA to move my plate over so still haven’t collected the 1199R yet ( but rained all the time so at least it’s still clean )
