We’ve been to a kids party in Erskine, then went for something to eat/drink on the Clyde. Weather wise it was shit this morning but beautiful again this afternoon. Tomorrow morning we are going to see our youngest (Scottish based) grandson in a little play, then we heading home. Hopefully the weather will be ok when we get back so I can get out for a couple of hours on my new Scrambler
Rode to OYB o T9 'tis a crackling bike. Bostrom @ OYB, only bike I felt deserved a picture. Nicest looking bike there was this: http://www.ducatiaylesbury.co.uk/used/1199s_1 Looked stunning. Checked out V4s. Don't like it. IMO: Lights are set to far back. Plastic looks really plasticky/cheap. Don't like plastic joining the tank. Don't like the frame by the tank. Really don't like plastic at front of the tank held on with 4 crappy looking screws. Don't like exhaust. Whole fairing area is to big. To wide and fat and bulbous. Looks like a big blob with a wheel stuck either end and a seat stuffed on the back at a silly angle. Looks like a cartoon drawing. Just my opinion but I spent a good while looking at it. The 1299 and 1199 look loads better.
Yesterday caught the silver bird back here. Primera Air were actually ok except for no online check in. Mega long queue at the airport, I thought that shit was a thing of the past. Train to London not so good. 'Express' was a definite exaggeration. Dinner with wife n both kids, first time in ages, nice. Watched qualifying. For a second I thought Lorenzo had finally pulled his finger out. Then 2nd turned into 6th. Could be worse but fair means or foul Marquez is in a different league. If the 5 people in front fall off JsLo might have a chance. Today new battery in the Pornygirly. Yuasa, much better. Really looking forward to riding it again...and the quickshifter. Oohsir! Couldn't resist giving it a clean. Thoroughly cleaned the chain too. 1st paraffin then WD40 chain cleaner. The Mrs had already headed north and there were no rags, so it was her kitchen roll and her marigolds. They didn't like the paraffin too much and as they had no fingers left I put the evidence in the back of the bin along with half the kitchen roll. Ha! Checked tyres with my new super accurate Oxford pressure gauge (recommend) and fitted the SW Motech pannier brackets. I wrote this earlier while letting the train take the strain to Peterborough for the mother in laws funeral tomorrow. We'll give her a good send off. Tuesday I'm off to Jerez with Bazzer! I wasn't going to go but I'm so glad he persuaded me. When I heard Lorenzo had beaten a lap record in one of the pre season practices and the Circuito de Jerez had been resurfaced I thought we might be on for something....but....I now think Lorenzo has to go, pronto. Can't tell you how much I've be looking forward to it though while riding the rollercoaster of life. It's never dull.
Did you see the killer whales https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....2018/apr/22/killer-whales-seen-in-river-clyde
Was in the dealers today ordering some bits. They had just got this nice 996R in. Supplied from them new. I have to say though. The V4 doesn't do much for me.
Considering the two imports on FleaBay for £25K I wonder where they will price this one V4 looks pants
