That’ll be the one. Sadly can’t afford the H1898 for our MotoGP trip but the last couple of days have been wonderful. Andy
Stayed there on a number of occasions when my daughter lived in barcelonetta. it's a fab hotel the pool in the basement is also a treat.
We’ve stayed here 4 or 5 times over the years when the wallet has allowed and always enjoyed our stay. We’er in the Calderon for the MotoGP and that’s nice too especially after they refurbished the hotel. Andy
Did the lakes and Hardknotts Pass today - now home to soak in a hot bath and get ready for copious amounts of beer
My two wheeled war against mother nature continues, Ducbirds flowers are next, MWAHAHAHA!!!!! Just kidding, I`ve been at work all day so your flowers are safe. For the time being
I did the same in 2014. Hardknott and Wrynose Pass and the lakes on a sportsbike, I defo needed a hot bath and copious amounts of beer when I got home. My bloody mate, I was following him and he goes blasting down a lane and leaves me to face the angry fist waving from all the rambling sorts. Ha, I thought he`d know better at his age.
Very quiet up there today - didn't see 1 rambler! Just half a dozen cyclists and about the same number of cars!
My wife said to me this morning 'You were the first man I'd ever been with. Was I your first too?' 'Possibly,' I said. 'Were you on holiday in Newquay in 1976?'
Last night of our sojourn in Spain and decided to revisit one of our favourite restaurants, the Ciudad Condal. In all the 12 years we’ve been coming to Barcelona, the meal tonight was something really special. Almejas a la planche (plain old clams cooked in their shells) and Bacalao con meil aoli (cod in a honey and garlic cream) were the absolute stars of the night. Just had a night cap in the roof top bar and feeling very chilled. 2 very happy people tonight. Andy
Just got back from holidays, and now decided I don't like holidays, because coming home at the end of them makes me feel depressed and miserable
It’s lovely and sunny here I’m sat out eating my porridge on the patio listening to the rumble of bikes going by Stay safe ya all
DMC Stoke first ride out of the year and very well attended, rounded off with sausage n chips at the White Lion Knighton
I was going to go to north Wales with @CINNABULL and @bettes. However things didn’t go to plan. Last night @bettes got a call out from work so couldn’t make it as he didn’t get back from Coventry till the early hours of this morning. I had a shit nights sleep so didn’t feel compos mentis for an early start. So I went back to bed for a couple of hours. I eventually dragged my arse out of bed at 10.30 and decided I’d go to Matlock on the Scrambler and test the new Quadlock and the map software I’d loaded onto my phone. Good news is the Quadlock and satnav worked a treat. Bad news is that the battery power on my phone dropped from 100% to 29% in an hour and a half’s riding. I now need a longer (than std) charging wire so I can ride with it plugged into the USB port. Weather has been stupendous and I was out for about 5 hours riding some fantastic roads in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. The Scrambler 1100 Sport also drew a lot of attention at Matlock, which was nice. It was also very noticeable how sports bikes are in decline. I would guess that 80% parked up in Matlock were nakeds or adventure bikes and 20% being sports bikes mimicking what’s been happening in mainland Europe over the past 20 years. I’d be interested to see official sales figures over the past five years in the UK. Tonight I’m taking SWMBO and her friend to Sheffield as they are going to see The Shires. I might go dogging
