  1. I can try that tack. Although I suspect they'll know I tried to register it once already as all the details are in their system. Don't you just hate bureaucracy?

  2. Yes, but if you bring it to the UK, ride it around and ride back you will be legally OK surely? you need to get you books out and have a read :):upyeah:

  3. I would have thought as it was a eu (uk) bike going to another eu (IRE) country then the vat would have been paid at it's new sale and not anymore vat transferring across from one eu country to another?

  4. No, and it's been discussed many times on here :yum

  5. I agree but apparently not.

  6. I hate tax law. They are the most boring of boring Acts and Regulations to read!

Also I had to get an export cert from DVLA so now I might have to re-import it to the UK then re-export it. What a chore.

On the bright side I also have a 30 yr old car and a 19 year old scooter both with much less than 3729 miles on the clock so at least I've learnt about the trap for them:upyeah:

  7. Re importing it to the UK will trigger a 20% VAT charge - but you know that now :eyes:

  8. Yep. I've learnt that one. It seems I'm stuck in some Orwellian situation.:dizzy:

  9. I'm getting increasingly pissed off with space cadets.

On Monday evening I was contacted by guy who was desperate to talk to me about a project he wants to develop in Costa Rica.

Experience tells me that nothing is EVER that desperate so I asked if he could answer some basic questions about the project before we spoke (so as to not waste any time on the call). Eventually he gave me some information but not all that I'd asked. And he was still bombarding me with requests to speak "face to face".

After literally over 50 emails from him since Monday evening I relented and said we could have a call this morning at 10.30am to discuss his project, even though I didn't have all the information I wanted.

So 10.30 has come and gone and not a sign of him. And no sign of an apology.

He can now go and fuck himself. The "project" will be a fantasy anyway. I'm not interested.

  19. Back on the Grouse moor with Rufus. First drive of the day went over the far ridge then another half mile or so. Did five drives in total the last two in pouring rain 11.7 miles walked.

  20. Went to the hospital for some blood to be taken, nurse Stabby Stabberson did the honours. Three goes in my left inner elbow area and two in my right before she found a vein she was happy with. I came out with both arms bandaged from bicep to mid forearm.
One good thing, and I can`t believe I`m going to say this but, I`ve had a niggling pain in my left forearm/elbow since a bit of an off last May while off road. Nurse Stabbys unplanned acupuncture session seems to have relieved some of the pain and stiffness. I have nearly full movement in my elbow with just a bit of soreness at full extension, I can also hold a cup of coffee now virtually pain free.
Huzzah, it seems to be a miracle. I`m going to test my newly healed arm on a tin of beer later, wish me luck.
