5 estrellas in and watching ant man and the wasp. Can’t imagine it’s the beer that makes it that bad....
That looks to be about 5m x 4m on a 200mm slab, I would definitely put reinforcing mesh into a concrete slab that size
Dragged myself down stairs this morning feeling as rough as a badgers arse, I`m thinking it`s a nasty case of man flu, nothing else can feel this bad. The bloody woman I live with, sympathetic as ever, told me to "man up and stop being a wimp!!!" They have no idea. I can see a couple of weeks of pain and suffering in front of me but I`ll try and be strong. Now, where`s the sickie blanket and my little bell, lets see if we can get some sympathy around here.............
Not far off, 6x5 actually. The concrete is coming Friday morning so earlier that day I’ll be setting out plastic DPM, blocks and rebar mesh. I can’t do it before in case it rains and becomes a paddling pool. Also there’s so much dew in the mornings at present I’d still probably have 1/2 inch water in there if left a couple nights.
You will need steel pins banged into the ground alongside the wood (every 600/1000mm)or the weight of concrete will push out
And there was me thinking, what with your building experience, you'd spotted something major I'd done wrong.
Just as described peg the shuttering so that it doesn’t blow the concrete but everything else is fine. Keep up the good work
Laid the concrete slab for the garage today as I had a call telling me they'd deliver a day earlier! Panic to get the prep work finished. Not perfect, but not bad for a first time effort . Never done it before in my life. ps. That's the 748 hiding under the shroud, whose home this is to be. pps. Before anyone comments, my plan is to finish it with self levelling compound.
My boy has just washed my car thank goodness!! I can’t do it myself so it does my head in watching her get mucky
