So what have you done today..?

  1. Appointment later with operating surgeon who fixed dual hernias.

Hiatus hernia (Diaphragm) was fixed okay with keyhole and stitches, no problem since.
Inguinal hernia (crease of leg/groin) they open cut and then used mesh, has been a problem since 6 months after

The mesh has been an issue. After 6 months I started to feel as though I had one of them blue binding straps for parcels in me and the edges felt with certain movements as though I was being continually paper cut from inside. Notified surgeon and his office in March this year and have had nothing other than being pushed pillar to post since.

I've asked for it to be removed as the failure for this type although disputed, in the bmj gives a problem rate between 13-30%. They have been reluctant until I mentioned I would be seeking a class action group to seek support in whatever is needed to resolve this.

  5. My barber told me today that I was going bald on top.

I said “Ah well, nothing I can do about it”.

He said “Devil's Ditch juice will sort it wink wink".

“Bollocks, your bald as fuck” I replied.

“Yes, but look at my moustache”

  8. Hospital today, it’s been 6 weeks since surgery. Good news, the 3” knife cut at the base of my spine is all healed. Not so good news, my sacrum is still tender after the Dremelling making sitting uncomfortable. Bad news, likely to be another 4 months before I know if I’ll be riding a bike again without prescribed pain management. Not the best end to the day but there is beer in the fridge, although not for much longer. Andy

  10. Shame it’s not on prescription, being over 60, it’d be free :dizzy: Andy

  14. My dad had the same thing and was told he would require a physio follow up, did they sort one out for you to help rebuild and re-establish the flexibility?

  15. No mention of physio although to be fair I found out pretty quickly simply going for a walk helped a lot. Being 6’4”, the biggest issue for me is standing from a sitting posture as my butt muscles pull the skin tight over the sacrum. Hey ho, beer beckons. Andy

  16. It won't be far off but I'm struggling with suppliers at the moment. The UPVC doors and windows are being made and will be in before Christmas I just need to get the cladding. :upyeah:
