Managed to get out for a few hours, roads were not as bad as I thought they would be, bike not covered in salt crud !
The inevitable dilema, beer or bike..beer or bike..beer or bike... BEER ! Helped one of my closest friends celebrate his 60th birthday. We had nibbles, party sausages, lasagne, jelly and cream, crumble and cream, cheese and cream..no that's wrong, cheese and biscuits and far too much beer. My most heart felt thanks to the loveliest companion a man could wish for who volunteered to drive. Andy
Makes me furious as hell to see what these places charge . If the olds get sick they get put In hospital . They pay staff crap wages and the foods rank. My nans home was the same same ( dementia ) staff treated like crap. Place was luxury but why do they charge so much! Also I get mad that old people are spoken to like babies or idiots. They have seen and lived through So much get get no respect .
Foul mood as want to be out on bike. Have had GP in to give me shots . I don't recAll much of last 3 days. Only that my front room fascinated one doctor . Apparently yesterday my friend said I was not making sense . ( isn't that normal for me?). Gutted as wanted to be out on the bike . Apparently my brains frazzling .. Just waiting for my BP to drop so I don't fall over anymore when I stand up. Involuntary movements are no longer funny either. Angry cat.
Planted a buckthorn in my hedge. Attacked the bramble invasion in another part of the garden. Missed the Boat Race. Just as well in view of the result.
Washed Justine's freelander 2, (2nd time in 3 days and washed my tt in between) including big time tlc on wheels. Freaking freezing - couldn't feel my "damaged" left hand or make it obey my thoughts which was quite interesting, and then tidied up after J's tree topping in front garden. Charged the 749 and sv1ks and changed 749's tax over (big job for me lol!) Shave, shower and now watching Murray v ferrer with large slice of choccy cake, cup of tea (me that is not Murray or ferrer)+ wine and crisps to follow. Exciting life I lead!!
Got up at 6am, poured a cup of coffee down my throat, loaded the car with archery stuff, drove from Tuttington to Castle Hedingham via Newton Flotman, erected said archery gear and then stood for 6 hours on the gate directing punters and shouting at kids for swinging on the ropes. Tomorrow I get to do it all again in reverse
Going mental ... Curled up with my dog ... I don't have a dog anymore she died wtf?? could have sworn I has happily with her .
Brilliant! Just opened the front door to let the dog out and there was a large hedgehog. I'm happy it survived the winter. It seemed to be on good form, as it scooted off smartly when I coughed unexpectedly. Put out some dry cat food for it; hopefully it will tuck in as they need a good feed after hibernation. It's been so parky here I can't believe it's been up for too many days. Made my day. The non-hunting hound had a pee about 4 feet from its nose and paid it not the slightest attention.
Got back from skiing late last night. The washing machine and tumble dryer have been going non stop today. But everything is now clean, dried and packed away for next year. Even the skis' and snowboard have been cleaned and oiled (to stop the edges from rusting whilst stored) but Melvin did those. I now need to look for new boots as I managed to destroy mine on the last day, not sure how? fortunately got a hire pair for the last afternoon. Now the fire is lit, the dog is back from her holiday at a friends and we're scoffing easter egg.
Finished stripping my 749 for paint, wheels, headlight bucket, fairing stays, stand. Fitted samco hoses, cleaned mud out of radiator, and that was a real mission. Knackered. Duke
