Just taken the van for mot, pass again, the tester said he has never seen a Vivaro van with any signs of body rot yet.

Had a message from Mrs M asking me to call home when convenient...

Called as requested and was greeted with the news that the during the winter service and thorough going over at Italia Moto it has come to light that the Tricolore requires a new battery (which was half expected) and quickshifter as it's gone t**ts up!

I'd rather find out and have it dealt with now than when I pull it out the garage for the first time this coming season though

 

Poo, hope the quick shifter is not to expensive

 

Shouldn't be too bad... Italia are pretty good with these things, have been fairly reasonable and given discount to limit the pain experienced in the past.

 

Walked 3 miles round the town, went for a pint while someone came to view our house which has been on the market since October last year, hopefully sell soon.

Second call from Italia, quickshifter seems to have been sorted... Corroded pin within the connector Will just have to wait and hear how the post service test ride goes to confirm all is well again.

Worst case is £250 for a new one. Not the end of the world but I've got my fingers crossed anyway

Did a RoSPA Motorcycle Skills Assessment today. The day consisted of a briefing, then a 100Km observed ride around country roads, then break for lunch and general chit chat, then 50km observed ride in the city and built up areas, then debrief. Numerous stops for feedback & instruction. Managed a Grade 2 ; only police riders, RoSPA instructors and those aiming to be one or the other get Grade 1.

Why? Because:
a) I hadn't ridden for 7 years until the end of last summer, so being truthful with myself my roadcraft was a tad rusty;
b) It helps me get discounts off my insurance;
c) It keeps SWMBO happy by giving her peace of mind I know what I'm doing

 

First full game I’ve watched in a long time. Solskjaer really has got them working well
