  1. I will never be a direct customer of BT ever again, they owed me almost a grand for over two years and tried to just ignore my complaints. That was until I got the ombudsman involved who found in my favour. They never paid me the full amount owed or provided the apology letter that the ombudsman decided was due. Was about £150 short in my estimation, I decided to move on as it had caused so much stress and expended so much of my time, for which I received zero compensation.

They seem to rely on the utterly chaotic organisation and multiple points of contact to just make people give up following through with complaints. They don't deserve anyone's money as far as I'm concerned. Their pricing tariff is designed to confuse so you don't really know what you're paying for or getting. This is coming from a business at home situation (both domestic and business billing) that had gone from broadband to fibre so slightly complicated but they managed to make it massively so and totally cock up the install both in terms of physical and billing.

Now with TalkTalk with a basic broadband package, I know that BT provide the network, no getting around that. The TT deal includes a land line but I use a VoIP line from voipfone that costs me £2.40 a month inc. VAT for a local number with the occasional automatic £5 top-up for calls (1p/min) on a Direct Debit. It's great, number can move anywhere with me by just plugging the Cisco box (£40) into a router.

  2. I've still got a 1/4 scale MD900 Notar to build. My TRex 600 is getting a little bit long in the tooth now. Andy

  3. A little late, in that it was yesterday arvo! I took my new (to me) 2011 Daytona 675R out for a blast. I've always got on really well with them and had a few but this one is a keeper. I love the 848 Evo and it's staying but I think it will be less used because it is that much more physical to ride.

  4. I probably don't need to but as I am in town today (currently in Wagamam's drinking a Kirin Ichiban) I decided to apply for an International Driving Licence as we will be driving/riding in Spain, Italy, France and Germany at some stage this year. The Post Office staff were brilliant but what a faff. Italy, France and Germany have an agreement dating back to 1968, so your licence is valid for 3 years but not in Spain. Spain have an agreement dating back to 1948 so your IDL is only valid for 1 year. So I now have 2 Is is. Andy

  5. Well apparently my new bike tidy has been delivered this morning (only ordered it Sunday evening) so that’s a job to do tonight then the garage will be sorted :upyeah:

We’ve also had the Dyson engineer out to fix our new Dyson that wouldn’t open up after we’d only had it a few weeks. And we’ve had three shutter/blinds companies out to quote for supplying and installation of shutters. Bugger me they’re not cheap.

Now just waiting in BT to connect us on Thursday and Bensons Beds to deliver the new bed and we’ll be done............until we start the extension, hopefully in a couple of weeks.

  6. Cunts the lot of em....When they had the monopoly years ago they charged everyone what they felt like TBH so as soon as Blueyonder opened its doors ive been with them every since...its expensive but, hey, it works and its not BT. I cant remember the last time we had the land line connected at home TBH (the Virgin line) as its just cold callers and scams...the only legitimate caller we ever had was my mother in law telling us sunday lunch was ready over the road! :)
