Fig, I think you are becoming the "Darren Anderton" of this forum, Man up ffs, only kidding!!! Went for a 200 mile blast today in a hurricane and tbh it was dangerous, and wet.....still enjoyed it though, thought I rode well despite being a bit rusty!!!
Attended a Mind Meditation Mudra workshop today. It was held in a Yurt down by the South Downs. A truly wonderful experience.Day also made better because my wife came along.Saw lots of bikes out today-must have been the best biking day for a long time. Roll on more nice days especially if they are it bit warmer.
Done nothing but sit in front of the box watching the bike racing, saving the pennies to pay for my belt service.....
Met a few more from here and watched some racing at a mostly dry Thruxton GWS Lee Johnston of Motorapido, nasty crash but lucky with just a broken leg bone. Also hope the guy in Supersports is ok...very nasty ouch
Picked up a nice stone chip on the Diavel, spent ages trying to make it look better with a Halfords touch up, made a bit of an arse of it to be honest..............at first, after a few attempts doesn't look too bad. That's the trouble going out before all the grit has been washed away
polished my bikes then went to pub real ale inn called the stand up with my father his 74th birthday , in Lindfield, had a dark star beer called hop head and another that i forgot very nice then mum cooked me roast beef and all the trimmings yum .
Been out for about 6 hours today from midday onwards. First up was Monster to check the low fuel level sensor i fitted friday works, so that meant 40 miles up and down a stretch of dual carriageway wasting fuel and not straying too far from a petrol station incase i did actually runout, lol, but luckily the light finally illuminated! Yay!!! Filled up with Shells finest then went up to Whiteways for a tea and to chill. Ride out after that ended up much longer than i was planning, but still a good ride, totalled about 110 miles all in for the Monster. Dropped the Monster off and back out on the Fazer, had a leisurely ride west along the coast to Fareham(Stubbington) for old memories sake, admired the view, then headed back to my parents so i could help my dad fit his roof bars i'd bought him for his birthday! So 110 on the monster and about 70 on the Fazer, i could have doubled that milage on the Monster and still be comfy, but that damn Fazer seat is a plank after 40 miles! Wriggling around all over the place trying to get a better sitting position. Think i'll swap over the seat with a lower one i have to see if thats more comfy. Anyway heres a pic of Whiteways this afternoon(arrow is my Monster Dark), and a pic of the Fazer parked up at Hill Head(Fareham).
New rear tyre, chain and sprockets fitted to the multi, in between the multiple races shown on telly. Front tyre left to do after work sometime this week.
New piston fitted. Barrel and head fitted then radiator and oil cooler refitted to the horizontal cylinder of the 916. Then barbied a leg of lamb and quaffed a few Ouzos and sprite.
Got the 1098 out and had a ride up to High Beech which was packed (as I suspect most favourite stop offs were today), had a coffee or two and chatted to a couple of people before heading off round to the bosses house to see if he fancied a ride round, he did. And so I got to have my first ever ride on a seventies superbike - his 1976 Z900A4, what an eye opener but I have to say it was a great experience and fulfilled one of my teenage dreams.
I went punting in Cambridge yesterday and joined the University Library - just because I can. I was happy to see that I was still good at punting - a lot better than the "professionals" who are punting tourists about all day and seem incapable of keeping the thing in a straight line. Only been back to Cambridge about twice in 30 years. A shame, as it is an absolutely stonking city. All that fab architecture and greenery. It's what all cities should be like. I spent the Friday night in a college room. A bit like a Formule 1 hotel, but with better lawns outside.
