We had a ride to Matlock the place was rammed got back in time for lunch with the family Cleaned the Multistrada this afternoon Not a bad Sunday
Before and after today's work... Didn't cut down the 8 x4 work bench in the end, turn out I constructed it not to come apart in a hurry .. and I have enough space now very pleased with myself...
Yea, I'm not the most organized bloke and I have way too much stuff for the space I have. This, coupled with the fact that for over a year (up till last week) I only get home 1 or 2 nights every fortnight, I find it hard to keep on top of things . But this weekend I have smashed it!!! Now I'm getting smashed!!
At least all your kits in one place to hand which helps matters, mines all over the place in different buildings...have a good few beers tonight
It's not quite In one place... My airless spray unit ( £1600 worth) I left in Sudbury a year back and when I asked after it last week , it's lost . The tracks for my plunge saw are In Balham ( maybe) and I just today realised my mega expensive hole cutters I left in Andover...
7.48. Good time to post this.. the other thing I done today was cry... Got the 748 outside for the first time in a year maybe? Had the standard showa forks revamped a few years back (4 or 5 but I've only done 5 k on em) sent em to brooks and had ktech internals , diamond like coating on the sliders, lowers powder coated , and uppers anodised in black .. well today I noticed some white stuff on the uppers .. a scratch with a fingernail revield the finish is fucked... More money...
This weekend I have been to the Llangollen Bike Fest (for about 3 hours) and then I’ve ridden around Wales on some superb roads This was Saturdays ride out...........brilliant day apart from the last hour when it absolutely lashed down and I was soaked. :/ And today’s ride out. We took the long way home
Just back from the afternoon at the Wickham festival. Heard Ralph McTell sing Streets of London (apparently he does have other songs) and Lindisfarne did a really good set. Didn't hang around for Gilbert O'Sullivan...............
Great ride out with Bazzer. The roads were so bumpy in Norfolk on the way back one of the mirrors fell out of its housing. I didn’t even see it go, one glance it was there, next glance it was gone! Bar end, bar none. I wasn’t expecting that. I’ll have to have a chat with the folks at Oberon. Got back to Bazzers bat cave and bled my clutch. With his help we sorted it really quickly and he topped me up with Dot 4. Cheers Baz, massive improvement, perfect now. Late lunch/early dinner with the father in law and sister in law. Went to see my mum again, back to put father in law to bed and now back in London. Just watched the Motogp on recording. It stopped a few laps from the end because of the rain delay. Bummer! I wasn’t expecting that either. Hey ho, I can guess what happened, it had it written all over it.
Took the Diavel down to MR for an oil service and check over before we go to Germany in a few days. Later on about 3:45pm, I decided to pop into the garage and give the Multistrada the once over but found a puddle of very clear, very yellow oil where the Diavel was. Brain in overdrive, got to be fork oil so sent the workshop a text to get them to have a look. Bugger, right hand fork leaking like a sieve and to further add to this catastrophe, Parts don't have any seal kits in stock. 4pm, I find 2 sets at Snells. Get into my kit, drag the Multistrada out and head off to Alton. Bloody rush hour traffic ! Got to Snells, paid the ransom (reassuringly expensive) and shot off down to Winchester. Just caught the workshop at 5:25. Thank you Snells and thank you MR for waiting for me. I'm knackered now. Andy
