  4. I was supposed to have a rideout on sunday which turned out to be a great October day but the bike was not ready/still on the stands for maintenance purposes and besides the weather experts said monday was going to be dry & how wrong were they.:punch:anyway tools down as the sun has been out inforce today, lets get one or two more rides bagged before it goes tits up weatherwise.
Both tyres had been changed last week but with a very lightly used secondhand front tyre which was given to me recently and i just brought a new rear matching tyre to keep the costs down plus with new front brake pads in place,so i proceded with caution to the coastline for maybe the last time (hope not) this year.
I stopped & snapped away at the Eastbourne lighthouse whilst having a chat with cyclist about the Pros and Cons of living in Lewes as you do,when a Spitfire came over not once but twice which included some aerobatics.
    Happy Days:upyeah:

  5. I reckon burglars are getting more crafty these days.

Last night my wife woke me up telling me " Ron, Ron, there's a burglar downstairs".

So I got up, went downstairs and checked every room including the bike shed.

Then I realised that I don't have a wife, and when I went back upstairs, my wallet, tv and watch had gone.

  6. Well I went for a 4 mile walk this morning.....................now I know that's not far but I normally don't do walking especially round here as the topography is challenging to say the least.

This afternoon I have been doing a bit of DOCGB stuff and also played my Gretsch for an hour. I say "play" but twanging the strings is prolly closer to the truth.

  7. Get yourself three chords, such as C,D and G they’re relatively easy to change to and from and are found in a number of easy to play songs.
There’s plenty of three chord musics books to buy.
But I found it easier if you find a piece of musics you like and can sing along to while strumming.
Either that or cut out the middle man and go straight to the Jack Daniels,
    Rock’n’Roll style!

  8. I have about 10 chords I can remember (after not picking up a guitar for the past 17 years), so I can string a few decent "pop" riffs together...........the main issue I have are my finger ends are soft as shite and need to toughen up again to make the chords sound clean when I press against the frets.

But I'm liking the JD option :)

Ps. I think I have 10-12 different chord books plus over 250 songs I transcribed and added chords to back in the day

  10. Spent the morning faffing around the 748 in a very enjoyable journey of discovery.
Beautiful afternoon here so a quick 60 miles around Bucks/Oxon on the 765RS. Now nicely over 500 miles (quadrupled it’s miles since acquisition) so exploring up above 8k and beyond for short stretches. I really like it.
Oh, and had to drop off a donation at a local chapel of rest. St Johns Ambulance so a good cause. The undertaker was a biker and was restoring a Honda NSR250 Rothmans. I left my number. ;)

  12. Tomorrow looks favourable weather wise. Not as nice but dry. Get some in.
Oh, and Spitfires. Bloody fantastic things. Me and no 2 were coming back from her Uni in Norwich a few years ago and one was doing stunts over Duxford. We stopped the car and watched for a good 20 minutes. Helps that she is a historian so held her attention too. I just like the noise they make.

  13. I've a few boxes to tick in the morning but maybe inbetween 1/5pm if bone dry.:upyeah:

  14. Finally started putting this roof together..
We were due to start yesterday but I noticed that the drop on the rafters was such that the soffit would missed the top of the window frame and hit the glass!
As I didn't want to recut all the rafters and hips the easist solution was take the blocks up another corse .
Good fun day today, bit of a pain with the fork lift, a crane would have been better but we got there .
Wall plates are bowed to fuck and as they are 165x165 oak I can see no way of sorting em so may have to cut the birds mouths in a few rafters a bit further back where the plate bows out .... IMG_20191022_124653.jpg IMG_20191022_122641.jpg IMG_20191022_122423.jpg IMG_20191022_122109.jpg

  15. Trick or Treaters have started tonight - I've found that by answering the door completely naked, they soon piss off.

Here come another two down the path now, dressed as fuckin' Policemen

  16. Met up with a bud lunchtime who had his colon cancer removed two weeks ago, to see him you would think nothing is wrong although he did bitch about wearing man nappies though.
