With the govt IR35 legislation coming in, to rape and rob the independent worker while ensuring they have no employment rights at all, looking like my retirement will now be in my 60's
What - are they tightening up on what allowances you can claim - or changing so you have to pay more tax... sorry - being a PAYE I have no details on the change.
For many, it will tax as if PAYE (tax & NI) plus you pay VAT and corp tax and then personal tax on any funds you take as dividends. But no holidays, no sickness, if you're not in contract, no support mechanisms, and can still be released from contact at (often) days notice. I pay c30% of my income in tax now, and have to plan for a rainy day (like the last 3 weeks off for illness). Plus I collect VAT at 20% for the govt..... They did this in public sector, the stuff our taxes pay for, and most of the rates increased by 40% as they couldn't get the resources they needed.
Ok - so you end up paying more than if you were a PAYE employed - at the effective hourly rate because of the VAT? or can you recover that? Are you still able to deduct stuff. unlike a PAYE? If not may as well work for a company ...
I'd to load these very heavy box section metal gates up on the trailer this morning on my jack jones not a easy task, but mind over matter is the name of the game.
Between two of you should clear £85k and pay £4k tax and NI. Plus you could put £16k in a pension tax free.....
This morning breakfast on the beach, then Butterfly house. We are in the Southern most point guesthouse, sitting by the pool (30°C) listening to planet rock and drinking bud.... and it's only 11... This afternoon will be fantasy fest and more booze..... a big thank you to all my customers. A huge iguana just walked up! Not sure he likes our music...
They came from a horse stables/heavy good vehicles yard many years ago and a friend of friend would like them.
