So what have you done today..?

  1. Spent the last three weeks working in Coventry and staying in a cheap and cheerful hotel; I was glad to be home and sleeping in my own bed last night, though. I managed to secrete 200 carpet tiles from the site I was working on, so this weekend will be filled by covering the bare floorboards in my house. Reckon I'll have enough to carpet the shed too. How posh is that!

  4. Totaly sympathise, not had them myself but a couple of friends have and they were in a terrible state, feel for you.

  5. sat at work thinking (googling) things to do to my garden

now I just needs a few sq meters of sandstone and a few men to order about

  6. OK, but what about the Garden?

  7. Bought myself an iPhone 4S to keep me entertained. About to sit down and manually *transfer every single contact across from my other phone to it. Had a crazy drive into London today too, thank god i don't live there, its too stressful waiting for someone to scrape their car against yours.

*On the Nokia Lumia(my old phone) you can copy contacts from sim to phone but not from phone to sim, aka Blackberry style. What a joke!

    Oops!

  9. Had a run down to Westbay in the sun for a pasty lunch and ice cream :)

Saw a lovely yellow 900SS and a black Diavel down there, as well as a 1199 filling up at Sainsbury's in Taunton.

Now sat in my garden reading this months Bike and off on hols to Morocco for a week tomorrow.

Life is good at the mo :)

  10. Finished carpeting the house. Can't quite believe I remembered how to cut carpet tiles properly; I watched my dad do it 30 years ago, and somehow the information stuck. For a free job it looks pretty bloody good if I do say so myself:upyeah:

Shake down after FINALLY getting the wheel spacers right and then fitted the red seat unit (it rocks)

  14. Had a full Ventureshield fitted, along with the helmet at Tony James Design in Solihull. Top bloke who couldn't do enough for me. He even did a template n fitted the stuff for the PP carbon screen and front mudguard tip. Plenty of tea n coffee n wifi.

I am not on commission but I recommend him 100% contact details are 0121 704 2010 3M VentureShield Car & Motorcycle Paint Protection film from Tony James Designs

  15. No way of downloading contacts to a Nokia website? From there you could probably export them to something that your iPhone might understand.
    Just a thought.

  17. You can probably use outlook to import the contacts to something like gmail, and then sync the iPhone to the gmail contacts over the air.

  18. Well Friday night I got the train to York to attend a friends stag do. It was packed, uncomfortable, warm, sweaty, noisy. Rather like a train in India I imagine, but without goats and chickens.

Got to York station and met 3 friends from different parts of the country in the bar. Had a pint, then we got a taxi to the self catered apartment I'd booked for the weekend. The apartment is/was very nice (definitely 4*) if a tad on the small side. That said it was cheaper than staying in a Premier Inn or some such this weekend given York races were on.

We then showered and changed and went to meet the stag and the rest of the group at their hotel in town. Despite them having been drinking since 9am that morning they were in pretty good shape. We then had a few drinks and a bit of grub in the Wetherspoons next door.

At about 10pm we left and hit the town proper. And it was fairly busy! To cut a long story short we hit a few bars, including the legendary Stone Roses bar and Reflex, drank my own weight in gin and tonic, danced a bit and got back to the apartment at 3.30am

Yesterday was race day and "armed" with a fuck off hangover we met the 30 or so guys again at their hotel. Had two drinks before heading off to York races. Weather was gorgeous too, so the women dressed in the sexiest/skimpiest dresses were out. Gawd bless 'em.

Well I know two parts of fuck all about horse racing and yesterday it showed. I stopped betting when I was £50 down. There was no point throwing good money after bad IMO. So my friend Johny and I left after the sixth race to head back and get a kip and shower before the nights festivities.

With that done we headed back out to town to meet the rest that had stayed out, at an Indian restaurant for a meal. Really nice meal and great company, with the added bonus that we got the stag a phall and we made him eat it! I'm sure his mouth will still be numb this morning. And if not his mouth, then his back side will be later!

We then hit the town again and after a few bars we then ended up in a sports bar to watch the Froch vs Kessler fight, which was entertaining, but not as entertaining as the cat fight that kicked off behind me between two girls.

After the fight we again headed back to the town and the Reflex bar. Much drinking and dancing followed. We eventually got back to the apartment at 3.45am. Don't ask me how, as I have no idea how.

I'm now laid in bed and nursing a hangover. Though its not as bad as I thought it might be. I'll be getting up in a bit to get showered and dressed, then its bak to the station for home.

Despite the weekend being costly, in one way or another, it's been fun. I've met up with some friends that I'd not seen in ten years, and we had a great catch up. We'll be catching up again in a fortnight in Cheshire at the wedding too.

    Cant wait.

ps hopefully the weather we had yesterday will continue tomorrow so I can get out on Eva.

  20. Was gonna do some work on the shed, but I can't be arsed, so I'll go for a pint instead seeing as the sun's out. Also considering a swap; a bloke's offered me a Le Mans mkIV plus cash for my Griso. I might just go for it.
