  1. Tried to get shut of the hangover from last nights party with a brisk walk through the parks and along the banks of the Mersey, went to the pub to meet up with some friends then on for a curry.
    Absolutely bolloxed now!

  2. Stopped drinking at 7am this morning after a mental house party. Thank god I didn't have to clean up.

  3. Thanks, I’ll look into it but our drive is quite long and narrow the tanker drivers always have a moan because they have to fully extend the hose then run it down a flight of steps so I’m not sure how Calor gas would get delivered. I’m also thinking that if we ever sell up a lot of people might be put off by not having a mains gas supply. I’ll get a quote from British Gas then I’ll know if it’s viable or not.

  4. Air sourced heat pump and run off electric?

  5. The Calor gas tank is situated outside of the house, usually on the edge of the property where the tanker can easily get to it, then a gas pipe runs it into the boiler. However, I understand what you say about future prospective purchasers and mains gas so if there’s a gas mains in the road outside your house you’re probably better off tapping into that IMO.

  8. Thanks, I’ll look into that as well as we have solar panels on the old tariff so could be an option depending on the initial outlay.

  9. Gas used to be a fixed fee for having a supply fitted I'm not sure if that has changed. When I built some houses it was always the cheapest service to have installed, circa £400 from memory.

They can mole under your drive for some of the distance depending on the type of ground and proximity to other services etc.

  13. You really need a well insulated house to make it cost effective....
Per kW of heat produced they are cheap to run, but relatively expensive to install.

  14. Well, yesterday's race the 2T lost compression and wouldn't start, maybe wrecked a ring, need to pull the head off to check. Crank seems ok so hopefully a cheap fix.
Today, back to work,...... Shite :(

  15. Was excellent fun !
SL fired straight up, thanks to the Exactstart cables!, and ran perfectly
Such a joy to ride, fast enough without being scary, lovely compliant suspension too
Made it home with just a couple of tiny raindrops on the tank too

  16. Had a walk up Deadwater fell with the family. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse near the top and the rain was coming in sideways. I sat down in the shelter to eat my sandwiches but mrs W and junior were having none of it and set off back down without stopping.
