Persuaded the wife to go dog shopping today after the loss of our Staffy 7 days ago - went to a Rescue Kennels near Rotherham and we took this one for a walk - a 3 year old bitch which looks very similar to the one we lost - so similar that we think we can fool the grandchildren (four aged from 1-4) that it's the same dog: This was the old dog
The dealer who took the deposit, is legally obligated to return the deposit. He thinks he can sell it again though.
And to add insult to injury SWMBO discovered a leak under the sink about the time I was told about the “missing buyer”. I’ve had a grapple around and found a rather active drip from the connector to the outside tap. I’ve tightened the jubilee clip and so far so good. Looks like it’s been dripping for a while though looking at the melamine faced chipboard panel at the bottom of the cupboard.
It’s bloody awful I was tested for Ménière’s disease negative and have vertigo Hope it’s gone now for you
Respect to you for going to a shelter. So many decent dogs needing homes. I'm sure ya miss your old dog
Won't the dog get confused if you call it another dogs name? It will be like, whose he talking too? pah, new owners
Our last 3 Staffies have been adult rescue dogs - 1st one lasted 14years with us, 2nd lasted 10 years, third lasted 5 years - I hope that isn't classed as a trend ........
If we take the new dog, we will (craftily) change her name from Katie to Rosie and hope she just thinks we're stupid - after all, my name's Ron but my wife calls me "Knobhead" and that doesn't even rhyme?
Just got back from London after a ‘dear diary’ day. The Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds Interactive Experience was an absolute hoot, really, really had a great time. Finished the day off with a gentle walk down to Jose’s in Bermondsey Street and pigged out on some fantastic tapas and my favourite beer, Estrella Inedit, on draft. I’m stuffed, pissed and knackered and off to bed very shortly. What a great day to remember. Andy
Sorry it looks like i'm back in the old USA today!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very odd. Please confirm so I know I'm not going crazy. Steve
Looked up menieres...sounds bloody horrible, glad you didn't get that DB. Vertigo is bad enough. Do you get it regularly? I slept propped up on the sofa with cushions behind my head - much improved today. Slept for 15 hours which is weird, more than double normal.
