  1. You don’t hang about do you:astonished:. Please do start a build thread, I’m sure there are loads would follow it:upyeah:.

Re cleaning the engine can’t you just mask off the inlet & exhaust openings and then have it soda blasted?

  2. As Paul mentions above, keep it complete and blast it but if you do use a company that is very used to doing motorcycle engines, this way will be the most cost/labour effective,

Only other way is as you know complete strip and aqua blast ever piece which i would think would cost around £150?.
It would take you a lot of hours to try and do it by hand and still probably wouldn't look that good, if you went this way you could take the side engine cases off and get them aqua blasted and maybe the top cam cover which would help with the over all look of the engine,

Should you try yourself, use those thick ladies nail files to get in-between the fins and yes start a thread.

  3. Could the engine be aqua-blasted complete??? - be nice if it could..

  4. I would like to say yes, but wouldn't fancy taking a chance with blasting with water and i think glass not getting in somewhere, i know in theory
as long as its sealed off it should be fine but i would think water will get in.

Try a few companies first and see what they suggest, soda doesn't use water i think so should be better for complete engine but I've never had complete engine blasted I've always stripped them.

  5. Just picked up my neighbours fence which was laying in the road, bit windy out

  6. Done indoor battery mx bikes, enduro bikes, whatever they are. Go well.

I still prefer the sound and smell of 4 bangers and 2 strokes

Yeah - thats when it starts to become costly....the full strip, recoat and build of the hyper motor ran into about 3k in the end...

  12. Dremmel using wire brushes, followed by dremmel & nylon brushes with autosol? There are a massive variety on eBay.

The wire type fall to bits quite quickly, and the small wire strands get in your hands and clothes so wear gloves and crap jeans & hoover up afterwards. Its laborious but it does work...

  15. There is a company up my way in Bridlington that does Soda blasting. Claim to have done motorcycle engines complete without any problems. Bit far for you I realise

  18. went for a walk to see if I could find my motorcycle cover. Last time it happened/this windy I found it about 300 yards away, incredibly it had gone "up up and away" to clear the houses that time and same last night but no luck this time although the two mile walk means I earnt my "breakfast"

  19. Tied down neighbours fence and other neighbour stopped his wheelie bin trying to mate with the front of my caro_O
Brings back bad memories of Iceland on a GS in April:worried:

  20. Fixed the phone system at mother in laws (serious brownie points) and recommend a roofer (my mate with a big old Hyabusa) to fix the ridge tile she lost sometime today. He is coming tomorrow as she is old. God bless the Great British tradesmen, they normally pull out the stops for our old folk.
