  1. My mate Dave's little boy, Dave Jnr, was at school today when his teacher said to the class "Today we are going to continue learning about the alphabet and today we are going to talk about the letter 'N'...........so Dave Jnr, why don't you tell the rest of the class something you're not very good at that begins with the letter 'N'".

    Dave Jnr said "Spelling"

  7. Today we are having wooden flooring put down in the hall. The flooring man is in the middle of ripping the skirting boards off

I’m assured by SWMBO that’ll it’ll be worth it in the end

I wonder what her next idea will be (though I’ve got half an idea she wants it decorating throughout) :astonished:

  8. And remember the new, deep oak skirting boards to match the flooring ;):D

  12. Whether its laminate or a complete replacement floor, the only way to do a proper job is to remove the skirting boards.

  15. Yep................since moving in we've built an extension cos obviously a 4 bedroom house isn't big enough for two people. We've decorated said extension, living room, main bedroom and WC............and because she didn't like having to rush to get her shoes off to get to the alarm when she got in (thereby 'dirtying' the hall carpet if she left her shoes on) we have had to have wooden flooring put in

I'm sure that'd be cheaper in the long run :)

Agreed. Which is what they are doing :)

  20. Sorting out eg de-risking a pension pot. Worrying times for investors. I think it’s overreaction but who knows? Done a bit of hedging anyway.
Oh, and also chucked out the old and fitted a new(er) one of these:
