  1. Was good to get out for a walk - lots of other people but we all kept a reasonable distance when we passed

  2. The Police came knocking for me tonight.

I had to tell them to come back in 14 days when I'm out of quarantine.

  3. As it’s Mother’s Day I asked my wife what she would like as a present from the kids.

She said she wanted a Pandora bracelet.

So we met her halfway and got her a Pan.

  4. As I am right handed and right footed, I find it odd that I can stand on my left leg much longer than the right, strength and ballance is better with my left, hope I'm not staying home for weeks on end.

  6. I was cleaning out my grandfathers home last friday after the old guy passed away at 90 the previous week.

In one of his old overcoat pockets I found a ticket for some shoes that the old guy had left to be repaired, dated from 1998.

Out of curiosity I checked online and surprisingly found that the shoe shop was still in business and was still at the same location.

So I decided to go down yesterday and check what had happened.

I entered the shop and started talking to the owner. The owner explained that he is, in fact, the son of the original owner and has worked in the shop all his life.

So I gave the ticket to the shop owner and he headed into the back of the shop just to see if the shoes were still there.

After some time he returned from the back of the shop and tells me "I've found the shoes. They will be ready on Monday."

  8. Just got back from a little walk up town. Normally the roads into the town center are queueing nose to tail, at least people in the country are taking it seriously.

The bridge in the first photo is normally full of people crossing from the car parks into the town center.

  9. A friend of swmbo who lives in Barnsley has just rung for a chat and said that her two daughters, who live in Leeds, asked whether she'd like to move in with them whilst all this covid19 carry on was going on.

Her daughters live close to each other in Adel, Leeds (which is a very affluent area) and both have teenage kids.

She thought about it for all of 3 seconds and declined their very generous offer lol

  10. free babysitter methinks :D

  11. Took the 999 out for a quick blast this morning, was out for about 1hr, I think it’s time to give sport bikes up the 999 is getting to uncomfortable for me as I’m turning into an old fart. Looked at it parked next to the Dorsoduro and thought I know which one I’m going to keep.

  12. Son delivered flowers and a card for his mum, left them half way down the drive and talked from a distance of 10m, his wife is a teacher and was with him.

  13. Any bulk buyers (London) on here fancy a 600 litre Freezer -18/-21°C
Refurbished..... £450 normally, but £350 to anyone on here.
One is finished and ready to go, the other will be ready when the spares turn up.

That's 600 litres of usable space... about the same as 10 people.... should the need arise.

  14. IMG_20200322_132659.jpg Dug the 1098 out from the garage where it's been for the last 5 / 6 years, gave it a quick wash off and brought it indoors for a service and a few other jobs - chain/sprockets, fork seals, 70mm exhaust and a proper clean up. Have to say that compared to the 748/916 series it's a real pain in the arse to work on but guess I'll get used to it.

  16. Went to open the garage door this morning and it went up a few inches then came back down again. Tried a few more times but no joy so I lifted it manually. I’ve spent the rest of the day trying to get it to work but it’s not having it. Can’t get the red led to go out on the centre solenoid so I guess it’s knackered.

  18. Dithered about whether to ride or not today... Ended up going for a bimble in the sun South of Brizzle with my Monster mate. Riding with him is like he's running it in, so we defaulted to sensible mode;). Hyper does not like bimbling along - has to be ridden 'joyously'. Anyway, I think getting out was good for my mental health but probably won't do so again...

    Edit:
Oh, and I discovered why my bike had that long tail.... Obviously to stop the road crap (only a couple of dirty puddles) from the back wheel spraying all over the seat, my back & helmet! Still looks better (when clean) with the tail tidy tho':upyeah:

  19. Took them all out of the garage to try and make some space, the garage also has a Rover SD1 in it. Made no space, so had a few beers and polished the exhaust on my 1200R. P1019233.JPG P1019231.JPG P1019237.JPG P1019248.JPG

  20. Having a quick look at that layout I'd say one of the safety circuits has tripped or is in alarm. Very unlikely to be the relay... all three look nice and clean, no burns or smoke on the plastic (caused by sparking).
If you don't have any active beams across the door or sensor strips on the leading edge, it could just be an over current detected on the motor, like if it jammed.
I'm sure you've tried removing the power for 3-5 minutes?
