  2. That’s the plan. Working towards getting shot of everything except the Multistrada and V4. You can only ride one bike at a time and my body is too tired to ride a sports bike on the road. I enjoy riding the Multistrada way too much not to and the V4 is the most awesome piece of kit for track days. It will be nice to have a meal in my dining room ........ eventually. Andy

  3. His love for the Morris Minor was nearly his downfall

  4. Nice design a VW Beetle copy though really nicely executed.

  5. I’m not sure Sir Alec Issigonis would agree with copying the VW but yes, very nicely executed. Andy

  6. Just had a terrifying moment ....... pulled the lid of a chilled tinnie, went for the salsa dip and couldn’t get the flaming lid off. Thankfully I found a pair leather work gloves and managed to get it undone. Chillin’ now with ice cold Estrella, McCoy’s Muchos, Dorito’s hot salsa dip and listening to Thin Lizzy. Livin’ the dream folks. Hope you all get to have as pleasant an evening as me. Andy

  9. If that was meant for me i have no idea what it means...

  10. Fitted some footpegs to the track pantygirdle. Whoever designed them needs to sit in the naughty corner for a couple of hours. What happened to Ducatis you could strip down in a couple of hours?

  11. It was in response to an earlier post from Andy, #65740. No idea why it appeared where it did.

  12. Heh = i was thinking.....what the...!

  13. Have the Multi up on work bench and am going to strip it down to try and find the source of the mysterious low end miss it has had since ages ago. Am looking for something simple... probably will remove radiator and airbox to just check all the vitals...

  14. Interesting workbench. What’s the ramp made of?

  15. was gunna make a similar set up but got lazy and bought an abba skylift. looking at this though, has inspired me and im gunna steal some timber from work when i can and get on with it!
what timber is the bits holding the front wheel? looks nice...

  16. Both the bench and the ramp are made from LVL which is laminated veneer lintel or somesuch, made locally from pine, mostly for a massive overseas market.
The front wheel boards are hardwood decking, loosely screwed at 120mm apart with huge 14G screws so there is enough movement for the F clamp to do it's job on the front wheel. Works well and cost me nothing as already had the planks kicking about.
I made it recently for when I refurbed my Monster and needed to take the motor out.
Just pulled the airbox out. One of the most frustrating jobs I have ever done on a motorbike. It has to be done complete, as in, airbox with complete throttle bodies and fuel injection all in one box.

  19. Talking of bike lifts; I’ve always wanted a bike lift, but never had space, then yesterday I was laying on the garage floor, to take off my Multi bashplate and thought, “you're an idiot and too old and broken to be scrawming(?) around just order a damn bike lift”, so I ended up buying this one:-

I wanted one I didn't have to ‘pump’ and a scissor type operation rather than the parallelogram, so this fit the bill.
But now, its got me thinking, if I run the bike onto the lift and it clamps the front wheel, how do you get the bike on its centre stand? Do I need to order a paddock stand and bobbins?

  20. Yesterday evening I finished reading a Dan Brown book SWMBO got me from the village library (old red phone box) so today I’ll take it back and hopefully get something else to read till my Bike magazine comes, hopefully next week.
