  1. That's 0.73 pence a day,but yes with the other vehicles thrown in the mix.

  2. Did you have the reminder? It said If I pay for 6 months in 1 go, it cost £178 but if I did it by direct debit but one payment, it would be £170. dvla wont take calls so I went to pay the £178 to find it had gone up to £181 since the reminder turned up 4 weeks ago. Boy how I laughed

  3. I leather treated and applied waterproof stuff to all my many pairs of gloves and boots I seem to have collected.

  4. Dirty diesel :mask: shame on me, my son has a Ford Focus RS pays about £145,

  5. Hotel 1898?

  6. If it had been the 1898, there would not have been an issue, it’s the Calderon. We tend to stay at the Calderon for the MotoGP, as it’s near the Passage de Gracia station and convenient for the train to Montmelo. I’m currently in email conversation with the NH Hotel group customer help department and have pointed out that the Calderon is one of the many hotels in Barcelona that the government in Madrid compulsorily shut down in March. Hope that’s not going to be like waving a red rag at a bull :joy: F&CO advice is still not to travel and there is currently only an assumption that the Spanish will open their boarders during May. I read an article today claiming that the holiday region’s representatives are up in arms if the country is opened up without UK travellers being allowed in. Andy

  7. New tyres on the Multistrada, it's more difficult to get on and off, love new rubber though.
Came home in the rain so no fun, can't wait to get get out on a decent day.

  11. I spent an hour and twelve minutes hanging on the phone to the local tax office first thing this morning before I was finally put through to a real live person to talk to. My query was answered in less than 20 seconds.

Then this afternoon I had to go to the post office to post our granddaughters birthday present and apart from reading a bit and doing some exercise that’s about it.

I did consider filling and painting some hairline cracks that have appeared when the house has been drying out but I soon kicked that notion into touch otherwise what will I do tomorrow? ;)

  12. I realised today, growing up in the 60's was far more fun than being in your 60's

  13. spotted today - a guy in the USA has started spray painting penis shapes over potholes - result is, the local council sends out a team to clean it off and fill the pothole in........

  14. Michel, you’re a positive guy. This cloud will have a silver lining and in a little while you’ll be glad it happened.

You’ll work it out. Do something you enjoy.

  15. You'll be fine

  16. Many thanks, CV being done as we type. As I stated I am now a very fussy bugger, so will not be taking the first half decent offer. I am so lucky that I live in a nice house, have healthy kids, money in the bank that was to pay off the mortgage but will now keep me going till I find what I’m looking for. For that I’m ever so grateful and am acutely aware that I have nothing to complain about as most people are far worse off than me . I also tutor motorcycling skills for a charitable organisation, so can devote more time to that when conditions allow. I absolutely second what you say about silver linings.

  18. You do get to a stage in life when you can be fussy and do what you want to do. I decided a year ago that I was tired of dealing with space cadets, working 60-70 hours a week, doing the same old, and that there was more to life than the old grindstone. Yes I was paid well for doing it but my work/life balance was completely shit. I don’t regret leaving work one bit as I’ve been able to do the things I want to do when I want to do them.

I’m sure you’ll make the most out of your “new normal” and good luck with it too! :)

  19. I’ve just heard on the BBC news that North Korea finally has a missile that can reach New York.
I think this is a really frightening prospect and we should all be extremely worried.............

Because if it can make it there it can make it anywhere.
