If it runs , prolly 7-800 quid . I’d get it running and MOT’d / do all the consumables that are needed so it’s tip top mechanically and call it done These old bikes look better when they show their age .. for me at least
It’s got both lecky and kick. I’ll fetch it, get it running and apply for the V5, I too like the used, unrestored look. He’s got a 1978 Yamaha XS 500 twin too, but he wants a grand for it.
Took the bus out for a fill up and run before going to work in him next week. Got carried away and did about 100 miles, loved it
I said to me dad this morning "Ey dad do us a favour, go to Woolworths for us and get me some blue and white striped paint " He said " Fuck off Ron, it's been shut 5 years"
I got the bike out this evening confident of having a quick spin....battery is goosed showing green on maintenance charger but just makes that noise on the bike lights dim a bit and nowt happens might see if Halfords do a battery i got a trade card
I can fully understand this, the seemingly never ending saga of Covid-19 is putting a lot of stress on us, especially so for those who have underlaying health issues or who are old and vulnerable, and can’t venture out. As apatchy says make the most of what you have and try to do something fun each day, get out on that fantastic bike of yours, and don’t take heed of the media !
Got a message today from our cleaner telling us that during this virus scare, she intends to work from home. She said she'll send us instructions on what to do.
Totally surreal. Just attended my first web cam funeral. Numbers limited to 10 that could attend in person. Sad as I wasn't allowed to go.... Just 10 people to see off a wonderful gentle man. Good Bye Gary. https://www.obitus.com/ A useful way to contribute/join in. Should you find yourself involved in a funeral at this time, it is the funeral company that organise this web cam service.
Not sure if anyone is interested - taken a punt on this...getting all the kit together to start changing my own tyres...i was looking for a compressor - a lad on the zed forum said he had an aldi compressor (the big tank looking ones) that hes had for years and worked fine....while i couldnt find that one i just found this which suits me better as ive got a small garage (easy to store) goes up to 100+ psi so should be good enough to inflate tyres and push the bead out.... https://www.aldi.co.uk/ferrex-portable-compressor-1100w/p/090352319982100 Gonna get a wheel balancer for car tyres next - if i can do all the car and bike tyres in our house it should save me a decent bit of cash...
Doesn't give you the capacity of the charge tank. Performance is a direct function of delivery pressure and reservoir capacity. I have a DeWalt 10 litre and in hindsight, the 25 or 50 litre would have been better. Andy
Despite it being a Monday, I had to do about 70 miles before I could find somewhere to exercise whilst observing social distancing. Didn't see many bikes out, although all those I did see were singletons, but lots of people milling around in the countryside. Andy
