Today I converted my old car into a cunningly disguised moonshine still. I'm hoping the nosey neighbours won't clock it.
(How odd, i tried to reply, and the screen went skew iff, the site is glitchy on Chrome for me.) Am part of the same volunteer initiative as Michel, and did i think my 4th urgent Oximeter delivery this afternoon. Am near the Royal Free hospital, so nip over there when i get a buzz on the app, and do a contact free delivery to a person who may have oxygen depletion.
Went for a mild winter ride, starting out in the rain but after we went over the mountains to the coast the rain buggered off and the roads were dry! Bins for @Ducbird!
Made my day!!!! Wanted to do a track day, Leathers required, but had not put my leather suit on for several years. I thought it would be a joke even trying to get them on I have put on about 10 kg since. Well they only went on ok!!! Thank the lord for loads of that very stretchy fabric they use now. My old Lewis leathers from 70s don’t get past my arse.
Nice day today tinged with recent memories. We have had my MiL round as she is on her own and is now in our “bubble”. I did a full roast lamb dinner with everything inc Yorkshire’s (I know it’s meant for beef but who cares?). MiL bought champagne and cried when she got inside the house. I’m now sat on own after a few drinks (was going for a ride this afternoon but that’s scrapped) watching repeat if Wales v England Euros 2016. I have a large whiskey by my side. Toast to my ex FiL who passed in October. It feels almost normal but it’s not. Seeing the pictures from NZ in the news of the rugby made me optimistic/jealous/angry all at the same time. I hope we can return to normality soon. I miss it.
Flexing my tyre changing skills by removing the rear i put on a couple of weeks ago on the Z - a Metzeler M3. Loads of tread on it but by fuck what an awful tyre - never had any Metzeler tyres that have been any cop..... Fitted a 200/55 supercorsa to the rear....bit left on the front Avon thats already on there so ill change that in a few weeks as the supercorsa front that goes with the rear looks like its got a little more wear on it.....
Had the breakfast of Champions this morning, then (as it was raining here) went on a virtual tour of SW Ireland and created* all the gpx files for the swi500 which I then uploaded onto the website (and I don't even have a satnav). * I used Calimoto and it is an absolute cinch to use, took me all of 5 mins to work it all out
