So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. Sorted a leaking bath for a customer this morning then prepped up some seat units ready for paint tomorrow! In between watching qualifying! Possibly out for a spin tomorrow if weather is gonna stop deliberately trying to annoy me!

  2. Nice letter today....

74 in a 50mph.....no speed awareness at that speed.....9 points in total now. Boooooo

  4. Bitten off more than i can chew ? My kitchen/ hallway single brick wall with an isolated damp patch. It's been like it since we moved in 2 + yrs ago, 1920's ex council 3 bed semi, solid floors now not sure if that was what they were originally.
After exposing this area i found wet rotted bits of timber between the brick courses as seen in photos, after hacking it all out on the exposed side the other side the painted hallway area is still wet, the bottom of the door frame is still touching damp ground level i think. Any suggestions on how to go about sorting this problem ? i think the wall is load bearing . The damp bubble appeared on the plasterboard were the dab was located. The brick work has been exposed for about 2 weeks.

  7. Deny being in the car when there’s a photo of me in it?.....

So they check my phone and see it ping off all the telephone masts, on the very road I was caught on.....

A 30 second investigation would convict me....

  16. 74 in a 50 is really much too fast though, isn’t it? So you kind of need to swallow that and consider improving your driving / observation skills and be a bit more responsible.

  17. Kind of. However, coming from a dual carriageway to a single lane, purposely put on a slight kink Sitting half in a hedge, with ZERO accidents in that exact spot (a friend is on traffic and I asked him to check). It’s there to raise revenue, not for safety.

So I will pay it and take the points and wait for my insurance to go up 30%, because clearly I am a hazard to society.....

All this has done has convinced me to buy a radar detector....

  19. Had to play the part of a sparky today and fix an electric shower and partially rewire part of a property all to prevent the tenant getting fried. Fortunately it didn’t end like this :astonished:
