  9. Oulton Park track day. Mans track

  10. Happy getting the Hyper back together enough to fire up after its tank-off mini-stripdown to check for MAP-sensor gremlins. Re-routed most of the wiring and a few pipes; pleased to know it a lot better now, even though I now know that all the bodywork, battery/ECU, tank, crossmember has to go, and a load of wiring moved, to get to the air filter cover! It's a crowded space.
Oh yes, fired up first press and sounding good...

  11. basically "it never rains but it pours" :- original, mostly very reliable for 3 years, ugly Strada decides to extinguish tacho 2 weeks ago, I do all the checks and discover there's no easy fix this time. a week later and ECU fails, (HW103) could be a coincidence but anyway, decide to retire bike and regroup/on to the next one.. Changed sidestand on new-to-me ugly with 6k miles and stripped clutch to check. Start up to find error code 36 (speed sensor) totally out of the blue as used last weekend and was faultless . Unplug/inspect/replug speed sensor and no change. Unplug/replug dash connector and now i have an additional error code 10.2 (coil earth or similar). Starting to wonder if I shouldn't have gone down the ugly route in the first place.. but decide to persevere - unplug/replug dash connector again and 10.2 now gone :upyeah: With renewed optimism I push bike forward and see 1 mile per hour did register (re: error code 36) so decide to go for a ride round the block just to confirm. a mile up the road and engine light goes out - i.e. - code 36 cured! I hope that's the end of it or will start to wish i'd stuck with a non - ECU bike for my runaround.:thinkingface::thinkingface:

  17. Out last night on the V4 along with my mate on his Panzer (S1000rr) on manoveurs in south wales.....plan was to get to the Skirrid inn for some grub but forgot that Wales are still different to us.....so we ended up in Hereford in a little pub. Ive been dieting 95% of the time since the pandemic started and been exercising 5 days a week so i was nice to knock back an absolutely filthy cheeseburger and chips (after a day of eating fruit and a tin of tomato soup)......

  18. Sorry to hear that Sev, even though you have said you expected it it still must come as a blow. As you have found you're just a number at the end of the day - it's the main reason I work as a contractor. I hope you find something soon mortgage protection will only bite you in future which you will want to avoid if you can, all the best mate - it's their loss
