Two hour Microsoft Teams committee meeting this morning followed by a three hour (I kid you not) meeting this pm. I offered to swap with the builder next door digging a 0.8M trench to replace the water pipe. Actually I don't want to swap as the neighbour is 'project managing' the build which seems to involve her standing over the poor chap telling him exactly how to do his job......
Went to Easy Kilbride to score a 2nd hand textile riding suit from a retired guy who is emigrating. One of them Swedish Halverson top-end type suits, looks the bollox, spent most of its life on a hanger, retails at near £800 of your Earth pounds. 120 quid to me; HUSSAR! Scuttled home like a Chessington chimp that had found the mother lode of nuts!
What a difference a day makes . Today was sunshine all the way (as it usually is here- most, maybe some, of the time). Today we did 360km give or take a bit, taking in fast sweeping roads, mountain passes, green(ish) lanes and wonderful vistas of the Atlantic and Ireland’s highest mountain. A long but excellent day out bikingwith @Seanarrow and his mate Paul. www.swi500.ie
Think they only carry 105kg in total including rider...the suspension is soft needs upgrading I’d say especially the front but it bottoms out easily on the rear on videos
I used to get invited to meetings when I was working, if a meeting was not relevant or I did not feel I could contribute, I declined the invite. I also left meetings if they dragged on or went off track. Guess what eventually the invites dried up, and I had more time to do the job I was paid to do. Nothing ever gets done at meetings, and in reality most of the issues being discussed could be sorted one to one, then e mail those who need to know the outcome. Meetings are a great way of looking busy and actually doing nothing.
This photo sums up my day out cycling yesterday. Set off to a place called Bratch in the Midlands, with the pushbikes in the van; realised after 15 minutes I’d forgotten my phone and had to return home for it (expecting a call); they’d called in the 30 minutes I’d been away from my phone. Decided not to bother with going to Wolverhampton and asked significant other to pick a cycle route a bit nearer home. At random she picked a route from Huddersfield to Mirfield to somewhere else. Sorry, I’m droning on. ...disappointed ...fly tippers ...industrial estate ...dog shit ...squashed Swiss roll.
Woke up pissed off, the wife and me should be in Italy for the Misano Motogp and seeing our friends and there new baby and the weather there is going to be Bellisimo for the next two weeks, fucking bullshit made up covid flu sniffle cunt bollox bastard shit fantasyland crap, what next hop on one fucking leg and you will not catch a cold.
Finished prepping and painting some metal railings with Hammerite; great stuff...and this time I wore gloves
Woke up really grumpy and took it out on all the work wankers. Now I see that it's lovely outside again so I'll be nipping out for a feel-better (I hope) blast at 5..... Definitely need to put an end to these bloody Teams meetings...
Had my first proper ride on the Daytona 765 this morning. Love the bike, so light it feels effortless and pretty rapid once you wind it up. Still quiet sounding but with a classic triumph triple air box growl. Nice. Met a chap at OYB who was picking up a new V2. Michael. I recommended the forum so keep a lookout for him in newbies. Nice bloke.
Went to Italia in Lincoln and got a new clutch and seal in the 851 and mooched around looking at things... was a bit sad when the 899 I was sitting on became sold, and then looked at an RSV for a bit... then saw this... Ace thing... I'm sure it's rubbish to ride though, and you'd destroy the value by commissioning and riding it. So I went back to the 'priller. This was nice too... Sat and did a bit of work, looked at some more stock and then rode home. Quite nice interlude.
