  2. Well yesterday certainly turned out to have a sad ending after a nice ride out. I noticed the air ambulance looking for a landing site up at Richmond racecourse on Monday evening and joked with my neighbour that someone was in trouble and thought no more about it. When I rang Mrs W from North Berwick yesterday I thought she sounded a bit odd but then again she does sometimes.
Turns out that someone was indeed in trouble, Dave Clark the deputy head of Richmond School had been out walking his dogs when he was attacked by a herd of cows and was fatally injured.
We still can’t believe it, I sat with Dave on Saturday having lunch and chatting about his plans for retirement next year. Dave was a mountain of a man a six foot six Scotsman with a heart of gold and tough as old boots.
    Such a shame.
